AIBU (yes but still) for being a fiery ball of rage about the fucking fireworks!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS A WEEK AFTER FIREWORKS NIGHT!! WTF?!

Whatever people think of fireworks (and I’m
not a fan anyway) it’s a bit like fair enough on fireworks night or the nearest Saturday. Fair enough Diwali.

But what’s the 12th November?!

Thing is I don’t even mind fireworks. If it was kept to even just one week we could manage. It just goes on for too long.

I couldn’t agree more. I used to look forward to Guy Fawkes Night, and really enjoyed the fireworks displays every year. I can understand firework displays on other special occasions like New Year’s Eve.

But night after night in November after Bonfire Night is over?? The whole point about celebrating special events is that they’re not an everyday occurrence.

Because a significant portion of the general public are cunts and there's bo law preventing cunts from buying fireworks.

Simple answer.

We've got fireworks going off at all hours of the day and night here.

Daylight hours, midnight, 1am you name it.

I was feeling this rage earlier, my sweet elderly cat just dared to venture into the garden earlier and some twatty loud booming crackling things started nearby. She jumped a mile and now looks very sad. I am worried they'll finish her off one day. My kids, one with AsD, were in bits as they are terrified of the loud ones. I can usually prepare them and mask it all with ear defenders and music on, but stupid me thought they were all done with by now and didn't go through the rigmarole tonight.

We've had them going off round here since about 2 weeks before Halloween, so now are we just to put up with it til the new year celebrations? Why are they even allowed to be bought privately? It's so antisocial. They either need to be banned totally or far better regulated.

In Sussex each town and village have their own fireworks night that other villages attend with the big one in Lewes on 5th November, so it goes on from September to Mid November here.

DP is a veteran with combat PTSD and he is trying to deal with Remembrance and the resulting flashbacks on top of all the cunts letting off fireworks randomly. At least if it was just one or two nights he could cope. But no. The idiots must have their bang bangs and screw everyone else.

As a pp said, in Sussex we have a bonfire season from the Saturday in September (Uckfield) and goes to late November.

I Iike them as they are organised and advertised and well run, and not twatface for number 31 with his special box from tesco

I personally think sales of fireworks to the public should be banned

Where do you live out of interest? I've lived in a town in south west, london, and home counties and never heard fireworks except the friday/sat night before/after bonfire night, diwali, and NYE.

In Swansea, the main display was today, because of the tides. So you can blame the moon, if that helps.

I don't get why people want to pay £50 + for a box of piddly fireworks. The ones you buy in the shops are never has good as the big displays. Disappointment in a box, I just can't fathom why people bother.

You are entirely wrong. It's fireworks that are boring. Surely only a simpleton is excited by watching the same damn thing night after night after night. Even most kids get bored of them after an hour. There HAS to be another reason they do it.
