Well colour me surprised
www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/dec/01/trump-tested-positive-covid-before-biden-debate-chief-staff-mark-meadows-book

It never made sense that Trump required hospital treatment for Covid less than 24 hours after testing postive...

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 01/12/2021 16:31

Can it be shown that in a few cases covid may have a long-term detrimental effect on cognition? Or is it just Trump gotta Trump?

TheSilveryPussycat · 01/12/2021 20:24

Have you heard about Boris' Peppa Pig speech last week? There has been speculation that our Prime Minister is suffering from long Covid. OTOH it's the sort of thing he would do anyway.

Yes. I'm pretty sure we discussed that possibility last year. I am not surprised at all.

Trevor Noah has an interesting point of view on the abortion issue (you may also want to listen to the beginning about the Cuomo bros and COVID's most famous supporter).

At 6:15

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/12/2021 11:38

As far as I can remember the Bible has nothing to say about abortion (as opposed to the law about paying up if you cause an accidental miscarriage), any more than it has to say about vaccination or the morality of a heart transplant.

lionheart · 02/12/2021 14:57

So Gilead is trending ...

I fully expect the aspects of RvW involved in this case to be overturned. It will not, in and of itself, make abortion illegal but it will allow 'red states' to outlaw it or make it so restrictive as to be impossible for the average person.

As is usual, the decision is being made by a group of self-righteous, 'ignorant of the common woman' jerks (and that includes you, ACB, you sanctimonious bitch) who can well afford an 'accidental' baby and/or have the money to obtain an abortion elsewhere.

I'd be willing to bet that if one of their teen daughters got pregnant or if their wives or if ACB ended up pregnant as a result of rape they'd run for a blue state so fast it'd make your head spin. But then again, they have the $$ to arrange a 'D&C for a gynae issue' with a discreet local doctor. As always, it will be the disadvantaged who will suffer.

I really never thought I'd see this day.

Roussette · 02/12/2021 18:15

And isn't ACB trending after saying that women can just have their baby adopted and go back to work...
Awful woman

DuncinToffee · 02/12/2021 18:50

It's horrifying.

I saw Boebert tweeted a picture of her and her boys praying in front of the SC, she only has sons so no pregnancy worries other than paying child maintenance

Bernie Sanders got it right
As the Supreme Court today hears a case on Roe v. Wade, let me be very clear. It is a woman who has the right to control her own body, not the government. If men were the ones giving birth, I doubt that this would be in question.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/12/2021 19:48

This is interesting, or at least I found it so: www.rawstory.com/another-terrifying-case-is-before-the-supreme-court-and-it-has-disturbing-links-to-white-supremacy/

Very interesting, thanks AskingQuestions

Why do the Republicans hate their employees so much? The people they plan to hurt badly by depriving them of their wages are paid by the government.

BruceAndNosh · 03/12/2021 16:01

And many of the Conservative groups that want to outlaw abortion, also want to limit sex education in schools and access to contraception. So increasing the likelihood of women ending up with an unplanned pregnancy and ultimately an unplanned child.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/12/2021 17:38

If these misogynists were planning to take responsibility for all such children I am not sure that would be any better, having thought about it. The children would be very unfortunate to be in the power of people like that.

Michigan.

edition.cnn.com/webview/us/live-news/oxford-school-shooting-michigan-12-03-21/h_e990e4879c0cc8cb3a06a4d39afae77c

'Two attorneys working with Jennifer and James Crumbley, the parents of the Michigan school shooting suspect, say the couple left town on the night of the shooting “for their own safety” and are not fleeing.'

These Crumbleys seem to have been arrested now.
