Thing is, for those documents to have been 'already declassified' there is a specific process and there would be an official record of the declassification. A POTUS doesn't just wave a magic wand (should that be 'MAGA wand' in Doofus' case?) over the papers and shout "Expecto Declassify-o". So that's another bullshit story from Doofus.

That seems to have been the line last night.

It's unclear whether he means that the documents were just fine where he had dumped them in the unsecured room by the pool, or that they could have just asked and not had to fetch them in such a rude way. If the latter, they did that back in March and had no luck.

This explains it for me a little more. Trump was subpoenaed to return classified docs and refused. He pilfered and stole from the WH to enrich himself

If this is true (I need to see it confirmed by someone who doesn't lie every time he opens his mouth before I will accept it as accurate) it looks like bad news for Trump: usually if they take away your passport(s) that means they are making sure you can't leave the country to escape justice.

On the passports... the only source at the moment is TFG. So who knows if it's true, because he lies every time he opens his mouth. The lists of everything they took, passports are not on there. However, there are reports that these passports are diplomatic/official ones that he would no longer be authorised to have... which is why they've been siezed.

Turns out they did indeed take three passports, two of them expired, and they had given them back because they didn't want them, before TFG started to whinge about them.

Interestingly enough, last night on Maddow she had a guest (Brandon Van Grack) who was a former Senior Justice Department Lawyer and Federal Prosecutor who previously investigated Michael Flynn under the Espionage Act. He also investigated and prosecuted political consultant Paul Manafort. He resigned after Barr started sticking his nose into his investigations.

Rachel asked about the passport/flight risk issue and he said he was not reading anything into it. That chances are they were taken because a search warrant may say "Take 'XX thing' and anything else in the vicinity of 'XX thing'".

This guy was really knowledgeable about the Espionage Act vis a vis the ongoing investigations and explained things so clearly. Wish he'd come back to the DoJ!
