There was someone employed by Fox News laying into I think it was Tucker Carlson and saying he was talking bullshit, a couple of days ago. With facts and figures to back her up and everything. I don't think they are as completely united in their fascism now as they have been in the past.

I wish we were doing more, militarily, like sending fighter jets via a 'lend/lease' program, like between the US and UK before Pearl Harbor. I do understand the supposed 'issue' with a no fly zone. It authorizes the shooting down of any aircraft violating the zone. And since Putin won't pay any attention to a NFZ it definitely means escalation beyond that which Ukraine can do on its own.

I'm harking back to WWII with 'Tokyo Rose' and 'Lord Haw Haw' here. But I wonder if there are similar broadcasts going out to Russian troops via VOA or Radio Free Europe. From what I'm hearing it seems that many of the Russian soldiers captured are saying they had been lied to by the Govt and that they don't want to be there but know they can't just give up and go home. Maybe if they had a 'Moscow Mary' or 'Petrograd Paul' broadcasting online/on the air telling the truth about Putin and urging Russian troops to surrender or 'mutiny' they could get them to turn on their commanders. IDK, maybe that's 'old technology' and/or they aren't allowed phones/radios just for that reason.

Maybe the Russian soldiers don't have phones; there was that touching story about the Russian soldier who surrendered and then burst into tears because he was given a phone so that he could ring his mum, which suggests either not having a phone himself, or a piece of clever propaganda by the Ukranians.

Further to the phone thing; when my daughter was posted in Afghan, sh warned me that there would be time when her phone was not working; this happened every time someone was killed, to be sure that their next of kin was told properly and didn't for instance see it on social media put up by one of the same patrol as the dead soldier. So it may well be that something of the same sort happens in the Russian army, only all the time so people at home won't know what is going on.
