Please help me revolve this minor domestic disagreement in the potato household

Which looks better?
YABU Roman blind inside window reveal
YANBU Roman blind outside window reveal

Window is North facing and for a dressing area in a bedroom. If it is positioned outside I will put it higher up than shown so it doesn't block the light when open.

I prefer outside the window, purely for a practical reason - if you have stuff on the window sill, it won’t get knocked off when you pull the blind down.

Outside

SoTiredoftheStress · 05/11/2021 05:24

outside.

looks lovely!

rrhuth · 05/11/2021 05:26

Inside for me

BlueSuffragette · 05/11/2021 05:27

Inside x

Nyxs · 05/11/2021 05:34

Inside. Inside always make the room feel bigger, wether it's open of closed.

LublinToDublin · 05/11/2021 05:40

Inside. To me it looks neater and 'framed'.

ApolloandDaphne · 05/11/2021 05:42

Inside. I pretty much only have blinds and they are all inside. I think it looks much nicer.

ApolloandDaphne · 05/11/2021 05:43

Also you can position any ornaments so the blinds slip down behind them so you can still see them when the blinds are closed.

In our house if it fits inside without cutting it’s inside. If it would need cutting to be inside then it’s outside. We’re not heavily into things like this!

Inside, but ours sit right on the lip of the sill, so anything on the windowsill is undisturbed when putting them up or down.

Poppins2016 · 05/11/2021 06:30

Another vote for inside...

Inside looks nicer and neater.

Heartburnkillingme · 05/11/2021 06:33

Inside for me I thought that was the only way blinds could go Blush

StarlightLady · 05/11/2021 06:38

Inside so that it appears flush with the main wall when closed. That way nothing will get knocked off the sill.

But do you need the blind to darken the room as well? You need to consider what is best for addressing “light leaks”.

Justilou1 · 05/11/2021 06:55

Inside looks neater but outside is more effective for darkening the room. What do you need? Are you keeping the tigers? They’re fab!

FuzzyPuffling · 05/11/2021 06:58

I've just had the same decision to make and have gone for outside, for the reason that I have stuff on my windowsill.

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 05/11/2021 07:01

Outside is gross (sorry)
The print is amazing!

WeAreTheHeroes · 05/11/2021 07:02

Outside as you've stated you'll position the blind higher up so it doesn't block the light when open. Which means it will block some light if it's fitted inside.

FuzzyPuffling · 05/11/2021 07:03

Is putting it outside a thing? Confused
