To hate snogging

Inspired by a thread I've just seen, it's got me curious about my dislike and wondered if anyone felt the same.

I hate snogging. It's the tongue. I don't want you to lick my tongue. I do not want to lick your tongue. Ok, that's a bit black and white and it's not quite "licking", but you get my drift. If I've cleaned my teeth within the last half an hour, and so have you, I could probably bear it for a few seconds. If not, yuck.

I've just eaten BBQ crisps. Why would anyone lick my tongue? It just grosses me out so much. I wouldn't lick your teeth throughout the day,
so why is licking your tongue any more acceptable.

DH gets quite miffed that I won't snog him. I just can't bear the thought of a tongue in my mouth. He thinks I'm not normal.

I appreciate I probably sound a bit weird. Does anyone else hate it?

I don't love it but it's more the aspect of having someone right up in my face. I can deal with it for about ten seconds then I start to feel uncomfortable. I have often thought about how strange of an activity it is.

I quite like it, but I cannot bear seeing or hearing other people doing it. Especially on the telly. It sound like when my dog licks her fanny 🤢

Because it's a gross food particle fat pink slug. And it's warm.

I would literally rather put DHs toe in my mouth.

We usually do it when we're in the middle of sex. Id never do it in public or just randomly. Ha.

May potentially barf at this. And no doubt DH would still want to lick my tongue.

I miss a good snog, it's one of my favourite things. I'm in a LDR and I'd do anything to have him snog me up right now

Same! I don't think there's any body part I would not choose over a tongue.

I don't get how people have sex without snogging. We don't sit on the sofa and snog for hours like I did as a teen but I still like a snog. It's the intimacy

I hate it too, I get claustrophobic and I don’t like having my mouth covered. My DH loves it too and is always asking for kisses. I feel like such a cow saying no all the time Blush

Have you always felt this way or has it come upon you later in life? I ask because surely if always husband would have known before he married you... I've gone right off snogging since having my kids, it just feels so invasive now I almost get panicky. No idea why as I used to love a good snog. With the right person. But then I've gone off sex too and I used to love it. Put that down to tiredness and assume the desire will return once I start getting decent sleep again, as with sex it's more of a "can't be arsed" feeling than an active aversion... But can't see myself ever WANTING to snog again.

Always hated it. He knew it as soon as he met me. He still asks. He won't learn. Grin

Technique is everything. Two men in my life have been amazing kissers (with tongue). And wow it's brilliant. The others varied from yuck to hmmm.

Sadly my (ex) husband wasn't one of them Grin

This! I remember being desperate for DH to snog me when we wee first together and now I'm like, ugh! I totally get the panicky feeling thing, I don't know what it is because my husband is a lovely lovely man and I fancy him, but I know exactly what you mean.

I've had three children in the last 6 years and two of them are not good sleepers, so I put a lot of this down to being 'touched out' by the kids, never having any privacy and just wanting to be left alone when I get some, and being tired all the time.

A wedding ceremony kiss is usually less messy, isn't it? Don't most couples leave the tongue out of it for the wedding?

No problem with kisses, but when the tongue tries to get involved, it just seems gross to me, unless you're in the middle of sex. And even then, I don't want too much of it! Never saw the appeal, honestly.

Yes. With lips.

Kiss. With lips. Or mainly flop my head wherever it lands and just try and find the energy because we have twin toddlers.

Kissing isn't the problem. I can happily kiss. I don't want to taste the inside of your mouth.

I felt the same until my current partner who I could snog all day.

He's just so - non-invasive? Soft lips, no smelly breath, no stubble, no excess spit, doesn't breathe hard, doesn't press hard... just lovely.
