To be mildly miffed when in the lingerie department..

.. men with their other halves still manage to have a quick gawp at the lingerie you're looking at rather than the lingerie their OH is looking at.

I thought you were going to say that you were miffed because you hadn’t seen a group of lost priests 🤣🤣🤣

Elieza · 18/10/2021 21:49

Ah father Ted. Brilliant. Grin

Marvellousmadness · 18/10/2021 21:50

So you've never gazed elsewhere when shopping for something? Like someone else's shopping trolley. Or somebody's shoes when they were trying them on in a shoe store? Or someone's clothes when you're trying on a pair of new jeans in a store a they stood beside you looking in the mirror of the store?

Come on op. Be real. Yabu

StillWeRise · 18/10/2021 21:51

that was my first thought too

SylvanasWindrunner · 18/10/2021 21:52

It's the biggest lingerie department in Ireland, you know.

LubaLuca · 18/10/2021 21:53

I think that's human nature, I often have a look at what other people are buying. I once saw my woodwork teacher in M&S, choosing underwear - I couldn't help but look at which y-fronts the poor man had chosen Blush.

MrsWhites · 18/10/2021 21:59

It’s like looking in someone’s trolley in a supermarket, I definitely look at other people’s underwear choices. Some people will always surprise you with their choice.

Booboosweet · 18/10/2021 22:00

I always stare at what other people are buying. Doesn't everyone? Yabu.

NiceGerbil · 18/10/2021 22:01

You always stare at other people in shops?!

Well yabu for a start!

gardeninggirl68 · 18/10/2021 22:02

It's because it's a man isn't it.... the hatred and clutching at straws to spread more hatred, is dull now

Yabu.

When I was a kid men kept clear of that dept!

Working in a dept store at Xmas was enlightening re. men women lingerie and gifts (not in a good way!).

When in early 20s and I used to browse lingerie yes I did find it grim when looking at Lacy undies to realise a man was staring.

Yanbu op.

How times change!

But it's the world's largest liiiiingerie department, father

YoComoManzanas · 18/10/2021 22:06

Yanbu. They can keep their neb (colloqualism for nosiness) to themselves when in the lingerie dept.
I don't look in other people's shopping baskets either.

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 18/10/2021 22:11

I’m always nosing at other people’s shopping. I know I should try to pack it in! I had to laugh at myself once when a man approached me in our local shopping area carrying a cardboard box. I had to go on tiptoes to see what was in there. The annoying thing is I now can’t remember what it was! But. How bloody nosy am I? 😳 However. Back to you. I just hate couples that shop for anything together. So we was BU for even being there…

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 18/10/2021 22:13

He. Not we! I wasn’t also there. Though, actually, if I was I’d have been looking at what you were looking at too Blush

Spongeboob · 18/10/2021 22:36

The last time someone scrutinised my shopping I added a vibrating cock ring and 3 packs of condoms (what awesome timing being right near that aisle in a supermarket). The lady nearly keeled over. Closer to produce I'd have added the biggest cucumber I could find and winked. People are weird.

Lollypop701 · 18/10/2021 22:42

can’t say I’ve ever noticed this tbh…. this may say something about the underwear I’m buying however 😂

shakehandswithdanger · 18/10/2021 22:54

I hate it when anyone looks too closely at what I'm buying in any shop. I know people do it, though, so I hide anything I don't want people seeing under something else. Blush

It may be impossible to not take a quick glance and notice, but it's still impolite to openly stare, especially when it's something private, like lingerie or anything like sanpro, drugs, etc. I just don't want random strangers speculating about whether on my period or if I'm constipated!

JudgeJ · 18/10/2021 22:57

I once, years ago, persuaded OH to buy some silk boxers and a woman in Tie Rack kept looking over at us. She was behind us at the till and I got my card out as said to OH in a loud whisper Make sure your b wife doesn't see them, maybe keep them at my place. She almost choked herself clutching her metaphorical pearls.

Violinist64 · 18/10/2021 23:08

Our local M and S has the ladies’ changing rooms in the lingerie department. There are chairs outside and it is common to see elderly gentlemen waiting for their wives trying very hard not to look at the rows of bras that are in their immediate eyeline.

Zugs · 18/10/2021 23:14

Get a life precious!

NothingSafe · 18/10/2021 23:26

I'm nosy af, I always look at what people are buying, lingerie or otherwise. So I think YABU, they're shops where you buy items of clothes, not sacred halls of privacy.
