Looking to buy a couple of jumpers for winter. Why oh why are they all so bloody thin? Are thick jumpers too manly or am I missing something?

Yes, and far too short as well! I'm tall and struggle to find thick jumpers that go past my hips

YANBU! I really struggle to find decent jumpers it's as if manufacturers think women don't need to keep warm

Weirdly, I recently bought a jumper in an online sale and it's actually both thick and long enough. Might buy a couple more as I had to get rid of most of my jumpers this year as they were old/full of holes

I buy cashmere or lambs wool ones now, from John Lewis or M and S. Lovely and warm but not too thick. Can’t be doing with thin acrylic jumpers, they’re more of a fashion accessory than an actual item of proper clothing.

You could always find a willing knitting Nanna?

Or yes, get a long sleeved thermal top to go underneath the thinner accessory type of cheap jumper

I buy mens! Next small size tend to fit. Definitely warmer than womens ones.

Men's merino or cotton jumpers from M&S or Gap. Avoid acrylic, so sweaty it's like wearing a plastic bag.

Ohh I love the thinner fine ones and can never find any!!! They always are so so heavy. Point me in the direction of these thin jumpers

Go to Primark. They have approximately 450 gazillion thick woollen jumpers. They have knitted pyjamas, knitted trackie bottoms, knitted hoodies,knitted vest tops and knitted skirts. Infact everything in there seems to be ridiculously thick knitted stuff.

Buy mens ones better quality, thicker and longer and go up a size …..

M&S mens' jumpers - go for the merino ones.

I love a thick warm jumper, they're hard to find I've a collection from over the years, like a pp they're short on me I'm 5'3.
Thin layer doubles are warm but cost you twice.

I get mine from joules and they’re usually pretty warm. Seaport or seaham or something like that. Usually patterned though so not so good for work. Good for walking the dog though! I have ordered the gold chenille one which I haven’t worn yet but I’ve tried it on and it seems cosy, and I’d like one of their turtlenecks at some point. Their cardigans (some of which can also be worn as a jumper) are cosy too but depending on the neckline may require a scarf outside. There’s a sale on at the minute too. I promise this isn’t an ad 😂 I’m just generally a very cold person so buy way too much knitwear!

I get peri meno hot so like the thin but bloody hate the boxy length. Its rarely cold

I just got some thick and decent length jumpers from the White Stuff :)

If you want a jumper to properly keep you warm, like outside at night when camping when fashion doesn't matter, then buy one from the army navy stores.

If you want warm and classic bit maybe not "in fashion" you need knitted pure wool, fairly thick - as in a traditional Icelandic jumper or a fisherman's gansey, not thin cashmere and merino.

For high street style, warm and practical go to the menswear section. You can buy traditional "woolly jumpers", vests or hoodies etc.

For style with very little warmth without a lot of layering, get womenswear.

For thin look for merino knits

I've found two super thick long woolly M&S jumpers in charity shops, both in the men's section. Wearing one now and am warm as toast.
