Tooth fairy no cash...

Aaarrghhh I've got 30p or £10 and I've got a child who's 10 and so doesn't really believe but makes pointed comments, 'I wonder if the tooth fairy would come since we've moved house' and he twice didn't tell me and put his tooth under his pillow and I'd overheard him saying to his siblings that he'd get no money as the tooth fairy wasn't real- he did and was wowed...

Anyway- what to do tonight please?!! GrinHmm

£10 and a letter of resignation?

Kindleswitchface · 28/09/2021 22:28

Could you write an IOU?

Postdatedpandemic · 28/09/2021 22:29

Surely the tooth fairy now does cash transfers into his saving account.
After all, she gets about a bit and is a high risk visitor to allow into your bedroom.

negomi90 · 28/09/2021 22:29

grocery deliveroo order so you can get him chocolate hidden with other random bits (or make up emergency errands and go out to the shop)

JustJoinedRightNow · 28/09/2021 22:30

Go into his money box for whatever you need and replace later!

Hopeful16 · 28/09/2021 22:30

Have you not got a friendly neighbour that you can text?

mynamechangemyrules · 28/09/2021 22:30

I'm thinking the £10 and a letter about kind of 'you know but don't tell the others' but it sounds creepy...

I can't run out really as I'm a solo parent and that seems extreme for the TF 🤣

COVID restrictions mean the fairy needs to do a bank transfer

XenoBitch · 28/09/2021 22:31

I only ever got 20p, but that was in the 80s!

mynamechangemyrules · 28/09/2021 22:31

Moved to the uk and this house 3 weeks ago so no neighbours or money boxes at this point 😳 My lovely sister is near but on holiday 4hrs away

Ive been recycling the same £2 coin taken from DDs piggy bank since the start of the pandemic.

Not feeling guilty at all.

lonelySam · 28/09/2021 22:33

I like the idea of 10 quid and a letter of resignation. Second best is IOU and cash tomorrow night.

Smartiepants79 · 28/09/2021 22:33

Do nether of the kids have quid in their money box of just kicking around in their stuff- mine always do.

Mamamia7962 · 28/09/2021 22:33

£10? Bloody hell, is this how much the tooth fairy leaves now, glad my children are now adults!

RaininSummer · 28/09/2021 22:33

Since he doubtless knows, leave an iou. It will be quite funny.

mynamechangemyrules · 28/09/2021 22:33

Haha! I wish. The youngest had 50p earlier I saw her swagging about but I've searched the house by torchlight and can't find the bastard coin

Aw I love the idea of a tenner and a letter of resignation. ‘Now that you are 10 years old this is the last tooth I can buy’ etc

CarrotSticks23 · 28/09/2021 22:36

What's he like with brushing his teeth? 30p because the tooth was dirty/hole in it?

A tenner seems a lot, but if you think hes probably got a good few left to lose at 10 if the tooth fairy waves goodbye now with their last tenner then it seems reasonable

RandomWordGenerator · 28/09/2021 22:37

They’re very forgetful fairies in the U.K., we’ll have to hope she comes tomorrow night.

What’s the condition of the tooth? Most recent tooth in our house only got 2 pence because it was such a bad sliver of a tooth (it had clung into the edge of the adult tooth for a year).

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 28/09/2021 22:37

Leave a written riddle that can be solved during the day at school and then sort whilst out and hide the coin in the answer place? Or personally I’d just be truthful at that age and take him for a treat after school.

Youcancallmeval · 28/09/2021 22:37

Having been in the same situation I'm afraid I resorted to a note from TF to say she couldn't find the tooth as it wasn't shiny enough so could DD please give it a good clean and put it out the following night...

RLOU30 · 28/09/2021 22:38

I love the £10 & resignation idea it’s really cute. Would do this.

WellLarDeDar · 28/09/2021 22:38

Put an apple under there? Or a pea and see how well he sleeps Grin

superhappymagicforest · 28/09/2021 22:38

We left a fiver the other night because it was all we had. We were NOT popular with the other parents in the playground 😂

mynamechangemyrules · 28/09/2021 22:39

Two annoying factors (cannot believe I'm going in to such detail about the TF...)
He has bizarrely early tooth loss- he only has one left after this- resignation..?!
He is Mr Clean. His teeth are lovely and white.
