I was at Primary school and was eating a minced beef pie. I started chewing on something really hard and spat it out. It was a massive long piece of someone's square thumb nail about an inch long Envy not envy

A slug in a tin of rhubarb I was using to make a crumble. There was no alternative for pudding so I just took the slug out. It had been through the canning process

Someones fingernail inside my tin of Heinz 4 cheese ravioli Envy

A £20 note in a packet of crisps in the 90s.

Opened a tin of beans for beans on toast and it was full of dead maggots.

Not a very bad one but found a live caterpillar in my tub of raspberries. I put it out in the garden but it probably got eaten or died.

Out for dinner at a local hotel restaurant - noticed a pubic hair in my creamy garlic mushroom starter - put me off the rest of my meal 🤢

Cocopogo · 14/09/2021 20:22

I went to a restaurant and on my plate amongst the chips was a deep fried wasp

CuntyMcBollocks · 14/09/2021 20:25

These have made me giggle, although some are Shock It makes me wonder if some have deliberately been planted in food.

Carpet beetles in the mini weetabix in a B&B in Galway. I had eaten a few mouthfuls before I realised they weren't chocolate chips.

In fairness they didn't taste bad, but I don't like to think of them living and pooping in my breakfast.

GotToGoBye · 14/09/2021 20:28

Maggot in an apple, I didn’t eat it.

Theblackdogagain · 14/09/2021 20:28

Meat in my vegetarian pasta, I complained and the meal was taken away and a new one handed to me, only as I started to eat it I realised they had just picked out the lumps of meat they could see. Dh wanted to not pay but we paid and left.
Also meat in a veggie wrap. With that one we got the whole meal comped and I had a free cocktail.
Please don't feed vegetarians meat, not even chicken Grin

MyMabel · 14/09/2021 20:28

I got halfway through a cake from a ‘fresh bakery’ when I younger that I thought tasted funny but put it down to being made in the bakery rather than shop brought. Halfway through eating it the taste got worse so I inspected the cake and broke it open to see it was full of mould 🤢 definitely was not a fresh cake.

A live earwig, in the centre of a peach. It had eaten part of the stone.

Some bad takeaway experiences, pube in fish and chips, sewing needle in a Chinese and an insect leg (a big one like a daddy long legs) in a different Chinese. Very limited on where to order a takeaway from now SadEnvy
