I was at Primary school and was eating a minced beef pie. I started chewing on something really hard and spat it out. It was a massive long piece of someone's square thumb nail about an inch long Envy not envy

Years ago found a fly in a pastry I bought from a bakery chain. Luckily I break up my food into pieces, thought it was a currant before realising it was a dead fly. Shock

Reported it to Trading Standards. Later found out that the bakery chain was taken to court and fined. Smile

I found a caterpillar on my lettuce once at school but I think the bright pink fingernail in my sandwich (also at school) was worse. I found the culprit and said I would get my parents to complain. I got a free iced bun everyday for a fortnight for keeping quiet instead Grin

RosyPoesy · 15/09/2021 23:41

I once found a maggot in a Chinese takeaway. Went back to the shop to complain. The bloke insisted it was a bit of rice, he grabbed it off me and ate it. Maybe it was a bit of rice, or maybe he just wanted to get rid of the evidence before I could report it!

Oh and DC found a pube in a Lindt Ball (GrinGrin) between the chocolate and the wrapper once.

frenchfancy81 · 15/09/2021 23:42

A very bitter spider in a banana

Saitama · 16/09/2021 01:11

My mum found a massive spider in her pot noodle, dead by the time she had found it (and eaten half the noodles!)

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 16/09/2021 01:16

Earwig in a yoghurt.

YourFinestPantaloons · 16/09/2021 01:18

It’s a blue food plaster. You know - those ones that they use that are bright blue so they can see them in food!

DevilFinger · 16/09/2021 01:43

A rat in the olive oil in the garage. it had chewed through the lid and fallen in. Ironically we were making ratatouille Envy (not envy)

Penners99 · 16/09/2021 05:54

Half a cockroach. (Yes, I had eaten the missing half)

Balonzette · 16/09/2021 06:20

An ENORMOUS dead cockroach in a bowl of noodles during a coach stop in Cambodia. Weirdly not too bothered at the time. I'd almost finished the noodles and remember thinking "Glad I discovered that now and not when I started eating so I got to finish most of it."

A very bitter spider in a banana
And this is exactly why I won't have bananas in the house 🤮
Echobeachsomeday · 16/09/2021 11:40

Glass in a pasta sauce which I had been swallowing for several mouthfuls :(

cricketmum84 · 19/09/2021 11:27

I once found a live caterpillar in a punnet of raspberries I was snacking on at work. I took him home and released him into the garden and then all my colleagues pointed out that the raspberries had come from Morocco and it would probably just die in our climate.

RIP Colin!

Youcanbesweet · 19/09/2021 11:29

Mine was also a nail

DirtyDancing · 19/09/2021 11:32

My DM and I Honestly found some metal screws and metal washers in a farm foods frozen cheese cake. Bad because they didn't believe us when we told them and said everything goes through a metal detector before it leaves the factory. Hmm

I had the same! In bagged spinach from waitrose. They told me they had multiple processes to stop this happening and couldn't confirm what it was. But I'm certain it was a nail.
Notimeforaname · 19/09/2021 11:38

I thought I found a thumb/bit of finger in those small cans of Heinz beans as a teenager. Turned out my mum had bought the cans with cocktail sausages in them.
As a vegetarian I had no idea they even existed. Rang mum screaming she told me to leave it there she would throw it out when she came home. She came back to investigate and I was laughed at for the rest of the week. 🤣

Shutupandsitdown · 19/09/2021 11:40

Tiny snail in a salad. Asked the waitress to guarantee that it would be put outside and not in the bin Blush

EKGEMS · 19/09/2021 11:43

A hamburger bun bag clip at Richmond airport in Virginia. Got a refund for my lunch and an apology. The worker reached up to access the buns above the grill and it fell into my turkey burger patty.

WhatWouldKalindaDo · 19/09/2021 11:46
