What's the worst thing you've found in your food?

I was at Primary school and was eating a minced beef pie. I started chewing on something really hard and spat it out. It was a massive long piece of someone's square thumb nail about an inch long not envy

DH made a stir fry that included fried cucumber

A watch battery in an airline meal. Could have been very nasty if a child had swallowed it.

Fingernail cutting embedded in a piece of cheddar.

I think we got a replacement and a £10 voucher rather than the lifetime supply I think it warranted

Pube in the tuna mayo when I was invited to lunch at a friend's.

No. I've no idea how either.

Not me, but a friend - a small bat in a jar of vegetarian spread. He got a bit of a shock when he opened the lid.

These are horrendous! My worst was a tooth in a tub of yoghurt, to this day I can't eat yoghurt.

A fly baked into a Warburtons toasties loaf.

Maggots in an unopened packet of Brie, that had been in the fridge since purchase

Caterpillar in a corn on the cob. It had burrowed right into the core so it's head just look like a kernel. I thought it was just a manky bit of corn so I pulled on it and it kept coming.

A fly in a fruit pie when I was a kid. My grandma was insistent it was a blackcurrant until I showed her it had legs and wings. Still can't eat blackcurrants. Grim.

Ordered a dominoes pizza and when I opened the box a giant black PUBIC HAIR was sitting on top baked into the cheese.

I swear to god it was giant!!!!!!!

Have found a large dead moth in my food on two separate occasions (salad and macaroni cheese respectively).

Honestly I've had so many bad experiences with moths I have an actual phobia of them now.

A pube on a pizza hut pizza, and a fingernail in a tub of Tesco own brand chocolate spread (was made in Belgium) puke.

Two small button batteries in the bottom of dd's costa drink. She was very lucky they didn't fit up the straw or took the lid off to finish the dregs.

They gave zero fucks when we complained.

Half a cockroach in chicken and rice dish (I don't like to think too much where the other half was).

I remember finding a large beetle in a pie from a local shop when I was little. My mum took it back to complain, and the shopkeeper offered her five pounds not to report him! She happily took the money ( we were very hard-up at the time), and on the way out, my little brother gazed at a big chocolate bunny on the shelf, and the shopkeeper promptly handed it to him with a big smile! Needless to say, we never went back to that shop again, though my brother still remembers the chocolate bunny!

On a Brittania charter flight to India....cockroach fell down from cabin locker into my food tray...i screamed and jumped up....staff ran to chase it as jumped out of food tray and wizzed off down the plance... and then gave me tons of food and cakes and free drinks....!!...

Not as gross as most of these, but biting into a whole garlic clove inside a piece of ciabatta. Tasted horrible, repeated on me for the rest of the day, and the worst thing was that I was working at an exhibition and had to talk to people at close quarters all afternoon...

Ordered a dairy free mac and cheese for my niece at a naice restaurant and it was only after she said her tongue was stinging (she's allergic to dairy) that the waiter told us it was only the milk in the sauce that was dairy free, but the cheese in it wasn't. They have since changed the menu but didn't give a shit about it at the time.

@prettycolours speaking as someone with a moth phobia, I think I would be too scared to ever eat again. How on earth did they get in there I wonder! 😱😱😱
