I have a next door neighbour who is odd. He shouts a lot and just is strange. No learning difficulties that I can tell.

We have our wheelie bins all lined up outside our walls on the back alleyway. He has just moved his bins (all three of them) outside my wall. I can't see them from my house because of the wall but AIBU to be pissed off?

YABU to be bothered by something you can’t see, yes.

SunIsBehindGreySky · 12/09/2021 11:45

Most people are odd to other people in various ways.

RainbowBriteUk · 12/09/2021 11:46

It's pissed me off when he has ample space outside his own property for his own stinking bins!

ChristmasCocktail · 12/09/2021 11:47

YABU. You can't see them so what's the problem? Hmm Sounds like your the issue not him.

MaryHadALittleRam · 12/09/2021 11:48

Move them back? Hmm
If you can't see them why is it a problem?

RainbowBriteUk · 12/09/2021 11:49

It's just the cheek. The alleyway is a public space but why outside my wall when there is space outside his?

OP posts:
SpindleWhorl · 12/09/2021 11:49

Do they really stink?

Can you smell them?

RainbowBriteUk · 12/09/2021 11:49

@SpindleWhorl not yet but on a hot day probably.

OP posts:
SunIsBehindGreySky · 12/09/2021 11:50

why

Power and control or selfishness he wants you to have bad smells not him?

SoupDragon · 12/09/2021 11:50

No learning difficulties that I can tell.

You know you can't always tell, right?

Just move them back if the not-visible bins annoy you.

seaandsandcastles · 12/09/2021 11:50

Why is this an issue? Why is it cheeky? Stop making a drama out of nothing.

MadCatLadee · 12/09/2021 11:51

YADNBU. He's being a CF. Move them back.

FleasInMyKnees · 12/09/2021 11:51

Just put them back into his area. Maybe he thinks it looks tidier or will make it easier for the refuse collectors if they are all lined up.

ANameChangeAgain · 12/09/2021 11:52

Are his bins on your property?

MaryHadALittleRam · 12/09/2021 11:52

Put your bins where his should be then or I don't know, speak to him and ask him why he's moved them?

SpindleWhorl · 12/09/2021 11:53

I've noticed that many people get very territorial about bin placement.

I once had a near neighbour who did the whole 'crying and shaking' thing down the phone to the council because someone put their bin out on collection day on the pavement next to her forecourt wall.

She actually worked for the council as well.

AlvinSimonTheo · 12/09/2021 11:53

He might be prepping to do a bit of weeding or something. Just speak to him

RainbowBriteUk · 12/09/2021 11:53

They're not on property. They're on council property in a back alley.

OP posts:
Cattitudes · 12/09/2021 11:53

Does it make it easier to access the back if the bins are all on the same side? We had this at our house. It was much easier to access the back of the house with a bike or something if the bins were all against one wall. If it really bothers you put them all against his wall next time maybe. Or just talk to him.

DancesWithTortoises · 12/09/2021 11:54

If you don't like where they are then move them.

Hungry675tf · 12/09/2021 11:57

I never realised this was a thing to get all ragey about. Due to the position of our yard/alleyway I've got about 5 neighbours bins next to our wall. I'm getting about 10 years worh of pent-up rage now just thinking about the injustice of it all.

seaandsandcastles · 12/09/2021 11:58

@RainbowBriteUk

They're not on property. They're on council property in a back alley.
So no issue then.
ChristmasCocktail · 12/09/2021 12:01

@RainbowBriteUk

They're not on property. They're on council property in a back alley.
So what's the issue then? Confused you can't smell them. You can't see them. And there not your property.

Is your life really this dull you have to make a drama out of a couple of bins? Hmm

IveGotASongThatllGetOnYNerves · 12/09/2021 12:03

Are they blocking your access or causing any issues?

RainbowBriteUk · 12/09/2021 12:06

It;s just the principle of it when he has a good seven foot to have the bins outside his fence. He's lined them up right next to mine outside my property. Why the fuck would he do that?
