I don’t really do them, so haven’t won, but I do play the lottery so I’m not one to judge.

Having won more than £30 at a time on that though!

@Shamsa03

Anyway as they say 'the proof is in the pudding' I don't need to argue my case.
Off topic, but the saying is "The proof of the pudding is in the eating".

Apparently the win rate is around 1 in 3½ to 1 in 4.

On average if you spend £1,000 on them over the year you'd expect to get back about £250.

£100 twice.

The most I have won is £30

Many years ago a member of my family won over 30k a month before they emigrated. I now say that's used up all my family's luck!

Real scratchcards? Won nothing. Zero. I think on an online scratchcard I once won my £1 stake back.

Saying that I reckon I've done a total of 10 scratchcards in my life. They're obviously a good way to lose a lot of money quickly. I prefer gambling on real events, horses, football, politics. You still lose, but much slower.

I think of scratchcards in the same way I think of those roulette and blackjack machines - "I'm not stupid enough to spend my time sitting at a computer programmed to lose me money." (Not my quote but can't remember where I read it.)

Actually, if you know what you're doing, you shouldn't lose that much money playing blackjack and don't need that much luck to be able to play without it costing you anything at all over time and you might even end up ahead, especially if you can exploit the online casinos introductory offers to boost your stake.
