To report inlaws for tax fraud

User112 · 01/09/2021 01:01

My inlaws have likely committed tax fraud on about 60k (in another country). It feels so wrong when so many hard working people pay their taxes.

Aibu to report them?

Daily mail can fuck off

Why would the Daily mail be even remotely interested?
Keep out of other people’s business. What have you got to gain anyway?

ShippingNews · 01/09/2021 01:04

They have "likely" committed fraud ? In another country ? Do you have any evidence ? I'd be keeping right out of it unless you have some very solid facts.

This. Do you hate them or something? What a weird thing to want to do to family.

blueshoes · 01/09/2021 01:07

Guess there goes any inheritance.

only you can decide this ... and for your own reasons ..

ilovesooty · 01/09/2021 01:09

I don't think you should report on the basis of 'likely' in another country. The evidence doesn't sound very solid.

Cantsayusername · 01/09/2021 01:12

Really?
Maybe they took appropriate financial advice?
Or are you sure it's a tax fraud?

Aquamarine1029 · 01/09/2021 01:21

Tell us you hate your in-laws without telling us you hate your in-laws.

LaBellina · 01/09/2021 02:09

I would be very careful with this, you have no evidence but still could make their life very difficult if you do report them even if they are innocent.

Maybe this is OP's ultimate goal

choli · 01/09/2021 02:16

Or she found out there is no inheritance for her, hence the desire for revenge .

yes 🤣

Day1noboozing · 01/09/2021 02:21

What a strange thing to want to do to family. You must really hate them.

choli · 01/09/2021 02:21

My guess is that the in laws gave money or signed property over to a sibling of OPs dh, most likely a sister.

Dee1975 · 01/09/2021 03:17

Don’t understand the daily Mail comment?

RosesAndHellebores · 01/09/2021 03:39

Ridiculous.

GiveMeAUserName123 · 01/09/2021 03:50

Special place in hell for people like you.

PluggingAway · 01/09/2021 04:11

"likely" - Sounds like you don't have much info to go on...

If you are absolutely certain they have committed fraud then I think it's fair enough to report them, if you feel strongly about these sorts of things, but to do so with no evidence seems a bit ridiculous. Is there something going on? Have you fallen out with them?

Guavaf1sh · 01/09/2021 04:13

Don’t

NessieMcNessface · 01/09/2021 04:16

If this thread is real then I can’t understand your behaviour. Why would you want to hurt your husband’s family in this way? You sound a bit vengeful and not very kind tbh. I can’t think of any reason you could give that would make me support your thinking but I’d be interested to hear one?

choli · 01/09/2021 04:16

No, she adores her in laws. She just loves the taxpayers of a country in which she does not live more than her in laws.

Erm... no. Stay away.

HeartvsBrain · 01/09/2021 05:21

OP, please believe me that in real life I never gossip, and I don't join in with other people who are gossiping, but here... I guess here is where I can let my inner gossip free to hear other peoples gossip, so please tell us the reason why you hate your in-laws so much - you can make it up if you haven't got a valid reason, just make it good please 😉
