DontWiltMySpinachPlease · 29/08/2021 19:31

Rude 😂 I'm still young!

Haggisfish3 · 29/08/2021 19:32

Yabu. I consider 30 young.

Aquamarine1029 · 29/08/2021 19:32

Of course 30 is young. Confused

MountainAshley · 29/08/2021 19:33

Yes 30 years old is young.

CurryLover55 · 29/08/2021 19:33

I’m 55 so 30 is a child!

JollyHostess · 29/08/2021 19:33

😂 oh please!

Perspective isn't it? I'm 54 so I would describe someone who is 30 as young.

MerryHellbreakingloose · 29/08/2021 19:34

I'm 32 and hurt...

DramaAlpaca · 29/08/2021 19:35

Of course it's young.

PenCreed · 29/08/2021 19:35

It's not young in terms of "too young to know any better" but it's definitely young in terms of "have whole life ahead of you".

ManifestDestinee · 29/08/2021 19:35

You will when you are 70.

pigsDOfly · 29/08/2021 19:36

Compared to me a 30 year old is young, but generally, I wouldn't think of a 30 years old as 'young'.

My 34 year old DD's husband was talking to me about her the other day and referred to her as a 'young woman'.

It made me wince rather as it sounded incredibly patronising.

Cherryana · 29/08/2021 19:37

Well yes and no.

Yes - it’s young in your body is probably ache free, lose weight if you want to.

No - it’s not too young to have a family, responsibilities like mortgage.

DappledThings · 29/08/2021 19:37

Young for what?
Young to be starting university? No
Young to be having a first baby? Depends on your perspective. For me it's on the upper end of young because I know hardly anyone who had a baby in their 20s but for so e it would be ancient in that context
Young to be getting married? No
Young to be retiring? Definitely
It's all relative!

MoreAloneTime · 29/08/2021 19:38

It really depends on the context

UnsolicitedDickPic · 29/08/2021 19:39

I'm 41 and I think of myself as young when I was 30. Ahhh, the good old days...

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 29/08/2021 19:40

It's all about perspective isn't it?
I'm a 30 year old, disabled single mum. I dont feel young

But compared to my 83 year old grandma I am young.

rubbletrouble · 29/08/2021 19:40

Surely that depends on the person talking.
My niece thinks 30 is ancient, my Nan thinks 30 is a spring chick.

I'm never hung up on my age, it just is what it is.

PumpkinKlNG · 29/08/2021 19:41

No it’s not young I’m 32 never get why people say it’s young on here mind you I’ve only ever seen people call it young on MN no one irl thinks it’s young

ChocolateChipBelvitaSoftBake · 29/08/2021 19:42

It's young, I'm 46 now and looking back, my 30 was very young. Not long married, starting to have kids, my grown up life was just starting!

Now 16yrs later I am starting, just starting to get on a bit!!!

Oogachuckachopsy · 29/08/2021 19:43

How old are you@Happiestyearofmylife and what has prompted you to decree 30 isn’t young?

GoogleWhacked · 29/08/2021 19:43

Yes, 30 is young.
However if you ask a teenager I'm sure they would say it's not.

LindaEllen · 29/08/2021 19:44

I'm 30 so my age + a couple is definitely young (I'll be saying that forever 😂)

freelions · 29/08/2021 19:44

It is young in the respect that the majority of the population (and an even larger majority of adults) is older than 30 so from their perspective 30 is still absolutely young

I am mid 40s but regularly meet people in their 80s, 90s, 100s through my work and they very much see me as young!

ChocolateChipBelvitaSoftBake · 29/08/2021 19:46

@GoogleWhacked

Yes, 30 is young. However if you ask a teenager I'm sure they would say it's not.
Ha! I did have 10 yr old say that he though 30 was middle aged!!!!

As previously stated I'm 46 and can only just see me possible reaching middle aged yrs!!

thequeenofsandwich · 29/08/2021 19:46
