Biscuit No need to be rude.

Nowhere in Europe is hot enough for a pool in January. You'll need to go to the Southern Hemisphere

Tevion28 · 25/08/2021 13:10

Take covid out of the equation I just want to know about places warm enough in january for beach and pool

Palavah · 25/08/2021 13:11

Tevion28 · 25/08/2021 13:11

I Googled!

Abouttoblow · 25/08/2021 13:13

Nowhere in Europe will be poolside warm. The Canaries might have "nice" weather but again, not sunbathing nice.

Abouttoblow · 25/08/2021 13:13

I've been to Gran Canaria in January. Not warm enough to lie poolside.

Username7521 · 25/08/2021 13:14

I’ve been to the canaries at Christmas and it wasn’t warm enough to be by the pool. For March it’s was just ok.
I don’t think anywhere in Europe is hot enough for a pool in jan.
Obviously it’s people dependant.
South Africa?

gogohm · 25/08/2021 13:16

Unless someone on here has travelled back from January in a time machine, all we can do is guess. My advice is to put the money away into a savings account then book much closer to the time - by mid October we will be getting a feel for whether it's going to be a winter if restrictions or people are just living normally and accepting the consequences - too early to call which way it will go. My winter holiday money we would have reserved flights for is sitting there, worst case scenario we stay here, I'm not paying to go abroad to have restrictions

Imnotcrazyjustdrunk · 25/08/2021 13:16

How about Cyprus?

gogohm · 25/08/2021 13:17

My parents go to the canaries and they do lie by the pool, it's 22-24 degrees approx, feels warm coming from cold Britain!

Tevion28 · 25/08/2021 13:20

Well I don't like very hot weather and my idea of bliss would be maximum 24 by and in the pool Grin

Can you stretch to Egypt for distance if it’s removed from the red list? Weather is lovely and sea is warm. Just a bit cooler at night.

Notimeforaname · 25/08/2021 13:20

Canaries. Family member goes every December/January. Warm enough to be by the pool/beach. Light jackets needed early Morning/at night. Many hotels have heated pools too.

Tevion28 · 25/08/2021 13:21

I checked Cyprus but it hovers between 16 and 17

The Gambia is absolutely brilliant winter sun destination, quick to fly to, no jet lag, beautiful beaches and great people.
