I mean, come tomorrow I'll be able to say "next week, in autumn" and it'll be more or less true, even though the first couple of weeks of September are usually pretty summery here.

I'm looking forward to
The leaves changing colour
Wearing coats again
Frosty mornings
The kids being back at school (sorry, kids!)
Eating porridge for breakfast
Being able to go hiking without worrying about ticks, midges or thunderstorms

Urghhh. Do you have your xmas tree out already.

ilovesooty · 22/08/2021 10:24

I had porridge for breakfast yesterday. It's not exactly season dependent.

Ifailed · 22/08/2021 10:26

I've worn a coat plenty of times in recent weeks as it's been wet and chilly.

allyouneedisconnection · 22/08/2021 10:30

I love autumn too. It's my favourite season.

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 22/08/2021 10:30

I still want a hot summer.

DismantledKing · 22/08/2021 10:31

Nope. Dark nights and spiders all over the house.

Just10moreminutesplease · 22/08/2021 10:32

You’re not unreasonable at all, I’m so excited for autumn!

PumpkinPie2016 · 22/08/2021 10:33

I do absolutely love Autumn -the colours and the crisp days (when we get them!). I love going to the Lakes at Oct half term as there is just something special about it in Autumn.

However, I do feel summer this year has been very disappointing! It's rained a lot where we are and not been especially warm either.

I am hoping we get some nice Autumn weather!

TammyTwoSwanson · 22/08/2021 10:33

I have porridge for breakfast all the time, but in autumn I put apple and cinnamon in it Smile

I'm getting sick of salads though, so I'll be glad it's soup and stew season. Hot chocolate after wet and windy dog walks. Kids going back to school... What's not to like? Grin

WhatTheFlap · 22/08/2021 10:35

I usually love autumn but don’t feel like we’ve had summer yet, so I imagine I’ll feel particularly short-changed if autumn starts on time!

MamaNewtNewt · 22/08/2021 10:35

It's my favourite season too. I'm not good with the heat so love it when the hot days are behind us. I love the crisp, cold days, the leaves falling and the run up to Christmas with Halloween and Bonfire Night. I can't wait to get my warm clothes out too!

FionnulaTheCooler · 22/08/2021 10:50

I love autumn, when its a lovely crisp day and you can wrap up and go for a walk round the park to look for fallen conkers. Home made soup with warm bread, hot chocolate with squirty cream and marshmallows. Much prefer it to summer, I'm always a bit relieved at this time of year when you start to notice the nights drawing in again.

knittingaddict · 22/08/2021 10:55

I love autumn so much. It's my favourite time of year and I can't wait. Having said that the hot weather that I hate hasn't made itself felt so much this year, so I not as desperate for cooler weather.

newnortherner111 · 22/08/2021 10:58

I love autumn colours, and some of the events I can go to in September and October. Just do not like the clocks being put back in winter.

HumdrumGuga · 22/08/2021 10:59

🍁🍂☔🥣

Love autumn! Definitely my favourite season. No pressure to be out in the sun all the time which weirdly makes me want to spend more time outdoors.

Percie · 22/08/2021 11:01

I'm really looking forward to it - hopefully we'll get the sun and clear skies with all the bright leaves and none of the intense heat that comes in summer 🍁🍂

niceupthedanceagain · 22/08/2021 11:02

Usually I love autumn
But this year with lockdown winter
Followed by cold spring
Followed by wet and cold summer
Not looking forward to things getting dark and miserable again .

BatshitCrazyWoman · 22/08/2021 11:03

I can't wait, autumn is my favourite season, it can't come soon enough!

Parttimemostofthetime · 22/08/2021 11:03

I'm still hoping for a heat wave 😂

Not looking forward to dark evenings at all, dont want to wear a torch for running and working in more wet (farmer)

troppibambini6 · 22/08/2021 11:05

I love Autumn. September to December is my favourite time, I also love a long hot summer to which I believe the UK hasn't had this year. We've been in Spain for August and I'm looking forward to coats, boots, candles, blankets and winter food. Although would probably be less eager if it was following a horrible rainy summer.

gardeninggirl68 · 22/08/2021 11:07

Appreciate Autumn this year

Can't wait to cut back in the garden and dig out summer bedding and put all summer equipment away

Need a trip to home sense for the pumpkin candles if there's any left!

And I've got pumpkins growing in the garden this year fir a lovely Autumnal display

BeBraveAndBeKind · 22/08/2021 11:10

I love autumn too. The colours and the beautiful light quality and the crunch of leaves. Not to mention hot chocolate and snuggly blankets on the sofas. It's the best season.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 22/08/2021 11:14

I made blackberry and apple crumble with custard the other day. Food of the gods.

LynseyLoses · 22/08/2021 11:15

Ah my kind of thread! Autumn is my favourite season I think. It's close between Autumn and Spring. Summer and Winter can do one WinkGrin

Glugglejug · 22/08/2021 11:15

Autumn starts at the end of September so you are v unreasonable.

Autumn and winter are wonderful but I hate wishing my life away.
