To start an autumn appreciation thread?

I mean, come tomorrow I'll be able to say "next week, in autumn" and it'll be more or less true, even though the first couple of weeks of September are usually pretty summery here.

I'm looking forward to
The leaves changing colour
Wearing coats again
Frosty mornings
The kids being back at school (sorry, kids!)
Eating porridge for breakfast
Being able to go hiking without worrying about ticks, midges or thunderstorms

I know what you're all saying with this summer being a washout, but what with the coronavirus restrictions and everything, I kind of feel like I just want to give up on it as a bad job and look forward to what's coming next. Delta variant notwithstanding...
