I’ve heard children speaking in my dds room when she’s the only child, there was no tv etc that could have made the voices

A female figure, part human, part animal. Human skin and body, the feet ending in a horn like structure - thing elongated horses hooves. The face was just exceptionally old - hundreds of years old. It / she was also not vertical, tilted about 20 degrees with the feet towards me.

@Audit holy crap that must’ve been terrifying. Thank you for posting what you saw as I’ve been on tenterhooks wanting to know!
Have you ever done any research/spoken to the owners of the property to find out what the figure was?

There was an age gap with the owners. The husband, 50's had a succeful business, his wife early 30's ran the B&B side. They had three children. He instantly knew what I had seen, but asked me not to say anything. He arranged for someone from the church to carry out some sort of prayer ceremony (can't recall what its called). They came out from Salisbury he said.

Iron is traditionally used to ward of demons and the fae, it is said to disrupt astral energy. You could try sleeping with iron under the bed or nailing an iron horseshoe to the wall in question. Otherwise just ignore it unless something escalates don’t try and communicate back.

I've got some iron tablets, should I take one?

Exactly that and slightly off angles so I saw the left side of the body from about 10-20 degrees.

Well be careful with the iron tablets they always give me a dodgey tummy😂. You’re probably safer with horseshoe😀.

A dear friend of mine had similar. Whilst pregnant she had a dream, in which a very commanding, authoritative voice loudly told her the baby was a boy, when he would ne born (exact date different to what she was given as a due date) and the name she had to give him.
When she woke up, she relayed all this to her DH, who dismissed it and also said he didnt like the name, so they'd be choosing another one.
Fast forward to when she gave birth, exact date she was told in her dream and the baby was of course a boy. Not sure if that changed her DHs mind but he ended up agreeing to the baby name from her dream.

I have several experiences myself... too long to go into great detail but basically:

  • as a teenager sleeping at a converted loft, hearing footsteps "outside", like someone dragging their slippers all the way right up to my bed (but on the other side of the wall). The noise then stopped for a few seconds.. only to re-start but again in the same direction, as if coming from the far end all the way to my bed. This repeated 3-4 times, every time the unmistakable sound of "dragging shoes" but never returning from my bed to the far end.. always starting and ending in the same direction. All I could do was lay n bed petrified scared shitless.
  • similar to PP also had a (very definite) spirit guide encounter during a meditative session. Funny thing is I couldnt even relax properly so was fully awake and yet it was so clear - first some very string vibrations/ bodily sensations, then a vision.
  • Had been woken by a spirit (initially thinking it was DH) in the middle of the night.. then realising could not have been DH as he was fast asleep and turned away from me. So I closed my eyes trying to get back to sleep and within a second of that (so again fully awake still) I "see" a black screen opening and a vision of something (sorry too personal to disclose, but not scary or a premonition) all the while thinking "How is that possible, I'm not even asleep". Lasted about 10-15 seconds I reckon, then the black screen closed downin the same fashion as it'd opened up. Nothing like this ever happened before or after.
  • DC and a friend (both toddlers but speaking well) had seen a "ghost lady" at a the friend's house, who according to friend's mum was a belated relative (after mum was given a description by the children)
  • Have a friend who occasionally sees ,Victirian women at her house. She's no woo at all and her DH and 2 children have all witnessed a sighting of the same women several times.

I wasn't knocking - think you've confused me with another poster. I heard three knocks when I was thinking about Jesus (words I never thought I'd type haha!) The other poster heard knocks and knocked back a couple of times.

Several years ago I had to put down my beloved cat when he became ill quite suddenly. I mourned him for weeks. One night I dreamt of him: he gave me a kiss (which he rarely did as he was a grumpy old thing), told me that he had arrived and was settling in well and that I should not worry about him.

I still grieved after that but the dream was comforting.

I have another.

My father in law died in the week between Christmas and New Year. A few days after New Year I’d been out with my son, then a toddler, and on coming home I put my bag on the stairs while I got my son out of his buggy, coat off etc and got him settled with toys in the living room. While I was in there with him there was a bang in the hall which I assumed was my bag falling off the step I’d put it on and hitting the varnished floorboards. It was enough to make us both look towards the hall.

I went in to pick it up but it was still there on the stairs and nothing had fallen. I walked back into the living room and on the floor was a Christmas card. I picked it up and it was the one which my father in law had given to us. It had been on a shelf with many others, they were overlapping on the shelf, yet that was the only one which was on the floor.

Bloody hell this thread has gone from slightly spooky and light to terrifying! I'd invest in an (iron) crucifix @audit and wear it around your neck day and night!

I also have a friend who moved into a very old building with a LOT of history. It was associated with a well known murder case at one time. She saw and heard an awful lot of activity in that house, so much so it became very problematic. She brought in someone to clear the house. I witnessed the clearing which took several hours. She never had a problem after that, and loves where she is living.

When I was about 18 I used to ride a motorbike. I used to stay at my boyfriends flat till really late then come home because my mum wouldn't let me stay all night.
On this night I was riding along a long road that had a dip in it. It was about 3am. As I was approaching the dip I saw some boys playing football in the middle of the road with some men in long coats and flat caps watching them. The boys were wearing what looked like strips from the 1930's - long shorts and an socks and old fashioned football boots. It was eerily silent. I took my crash helmet off, thinking I was seeing things, but the scene was still there. Not at all scary though. As I rode on I looked back and they were gone. There used to be a school on the other side of the road and the dip is were the football field used to be. My mum never believed me, but agreed I could stay with my boyfriend so I didn't have to come home at stupid o'clock again. Result!

The night my mum died she sent us all away, she was in a hospice, and I had been to a wedding. I woke up at 4.20am because I could feel her hand hold mine, she had cold hands always. At 4.30am my stepdad phone to say she'd passed. My sister felt it too at exactly the same time.

I found it very comforting.

If you ever get to Cranbrook this property was seriously haunted when I was a child. I had an invisible friend his clothing as I described it was ancient times. Footsteps running up and down the stairs day and night. A gardener who used to walk through a bricked up wall. One room everyone hated to sleep in. My grandad who knew nothing went for lie down. Something gave his bad back a massage, it wasn't granny he discovered they packed up and left.

I often wonder if all the renovation scared them off or if weird things still happen
