AIU to hate my star sign?

This is something that has always bothered me. Always. Since I was around 15 and actually looked up my star sign.
If you haven't guessed - I'm a LEO.
I am all the positives. Everyone I know says it of me. My biggest "problem" is trying to please everyone. I put soo much thought into everything I do. When I get it wrong - I quietly torture myself (in my head) about how awful I am. Even if it's nothing all that big. When I do something; I put 100% of my time and energy into it.
I love my family and friends. I would do anything for any one of them. I spoil everyone's children (on DH's side - I adore all my nieces and nefews)
My family - however - always portray me as the negatives. I love my sisters, even though we have had a very rocky relationship. Since moving away from home with DH; they think I'm selfish. Even though we have built a beautiful life. We got married, had 3 children. They are welcome any time. Open invitation. We go back home regularly to see everyone.
This somehow makes me selfish. And apparently self centered.

Leo's are known for being generous. But they're also known for being all these horrible things. It makes me soo sad.
Any other Leo's out there HATE their star sign?
Does anyone else not like their star sign or identify with it (not just leo's)?
Just wondering.
Totally lighthearted. Obviously I know it doesn't matter in the great grand scheme of things. I am (I hope) an overall good person.

It's all rubbish really , but the Leo friends I know I really like ; they do tend to be quite feisty and don't take any shit.
Most of what is said about all the star signs could apply to anyone really , but occasionally I can see something in it too..
I'd love to have my birth chart done. That's probably a bit more ' scientific' !!

Well I am on a crossover date, sometimes I am the one, sometimes another which I think means I am screwed.

I'm Capricorn and have many of the traits associated with the sign. I still think it's all a load of bollocks.

I have all the negative attributes associated with my start sign. But I've just looked at what you posted about Leos and I have all of those negative attributes, too. So I assume it's nothing to do with when I was born: I just have a lot of negative attributes.

Look up barnum statements, things that are true for most people most of the time... astrology relies heavily on these. Think Derren brown did an experiment (replicated someone else's experiment I think) where he sent identical horoscopes / psychic readings or something to 100 different people and the vast majority said it was very accurate.

I was a Virgo, and am in every sense a Virgo. Then they changed the star signs and I became a Leo. Virgos and Leos are like night and day personality wise. I’m definitely not a Leo

(Although if it makes you feel better OP, I wouldn’t mind being one. Much less anal and more confident than Virgos)

I'm a scorpio. Most of it fits me. Especially the bits about loyalty and hating people.

If I'd believed in that crap, which I don't, there'd be a lot of explaining to do... supposedly a pisces, but a data miner, analyst, minimalist, slightly health obsessed and as private as one gets... so no, it definitely doesn't hold anything for me.

im a leo and so is dd and id say we are quite typical leos , although i do find myself feeling a bit like a libra sometimes as one of their traits is indecision , which i have badly , no one is a typical leo or cancer per say as your zodiac chart is unique to you , factors such as where you were born , what time , the planets ,sun ,moon were all in particular places , so your chart could be moon in gemini , cancer in venus , only an astrologer can draw up your chart for you and its those things that influence your personality .
the chinese zodiac is also fascinating , im year of the rat and im most definately a typical rat
