My NI number starts with my initials. So I assumed everyone’s did. Just found out it’s a weird coincidence.

My NI number is one digit and letter different to my DBs! So mine would be AA111111A his is AA111112B.
When his came through I figured it was a normal thing, but apparently not, complete coincidence!

Mine and my brother's are only 2 digits different. I.e mine is xxxxxxxx2A, his is xxxxxxxx3B. Not twins, several years between us.

@Faranth I was about to say I have the same thing with my DSis. Except the difference is the letter at the end. Again I think we presumed it was like that because we were siblings.

They allocated every child a NI number in a certain year. That's why some siblings have numbers very close together.
