I just received the following Annonymous message

Well thank you very much.

Do you know what LDKK means?

Well no I don’t actually. Can you enlighten me mumsnet? Google doesn’t know. Do I need to be concerned?

Don’t think I’ve upset anyone.

Probably just a scam ao ignore

mygenericusername · 16/07/2021 21:37

I’ve got a feeling I’m being threatened.

The only thing I can think of is We recently had to let at an employee go after he was caught over exaggerating his hours. He wasn’t happy. This is the only thing I can think of. I’m quite concerned.

TheMagicPudding · 16/07/2021 21:43

Thats dramatic...
could it be just a mistake? Wrong number? Was it a text or whatsapp or online message? There isnt really enough to go on here.

Inthesameboatatmo · 16/07/2021 21:44

I wouldn't think anything of it just yet,but if you feel uneasy then maybe call police non emergency number and log it for peace of mind.
But I wouldn't worry at this personally

Yftg8 · 16/07/2021 21:48

Weird

MarshaBradyo · 16/07/2021 21:50

So just those two lines

Could be wrong number?

SchrodingersImmigrant · 16/07/2021 21:51

Honestly, with the amount of scams I would take is as one where if you answer you are charges premium or something so I would just ignire unless there is more

mygenericusername · 16/07/2021 21:58

Yes. Just those two lines by text. I might call the non emergency number.

I’m going to have a glass of wine and try not to freak myself out. If anyone knows WTF my mystery person is going on about please let me know.

OP posts:
Izzy24 · 16/07/2021 21:59

I didn’t think it would be possible to send an anonymous text?

Izzy24 · 16/07/2021 22:00

Not that I’m planning on doing it!

SirusTheVirus · 16/07/2021 22:02

You might call the non emergency number?

Really?

I think you need a grip not a glass of wine Hmm

stampo · 16/07/2021 22:03

This warrants no action whatsoever. You do not need to call a non emergency number. You need to delete it, or not because it's only a text and can’t hurt you.

AnneFuckingKirrin · 16/07/2021 22:04

Are you joking about calling the non emergency number.
Years ago I would have assumed you were but it’s hard to tell these days.
Have you goggled the number, they sometimes come up if used in a scam don’t they ?
I would consider texting back just to find out what the acronym is.

gardeninggirl68 · 16/07/2021 22:09

its no police matter!!

text back

Monsterjam · 16/07/2021 22:10

Please be kidding about calling any non emergency numbers!
Could it be a mistake? Doesn’t come across as threatening at all

SchrodingersImmigrant · 16/07/2021 22:12

I wouldn't text back tbh. Just ignore it and that's it

UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa · 16/07/2021 22:13

Better call the "not even a non emergency" number.

tedsletterofthelaw · 16/07/2021 22:14

It's probably a wrong number. Ignore it and block.

Or text back and ask what the hell they're on about (because I really want to know what LDKK means now!)

PushOrPull · 16/07/2021 22:15

Do you own a dog by any chance

It means I don't know ok
laughoutquiet · 16/07/2021 22:16

IDK - I don't know
LKD- liked

Maybe?

Aliceinunderland · 16/07/2021 22:17

According to urban dictionary, LDK appears to be a group of dog killers but no idea what LDKK is. If you get another text, I would log online with the police. Sometimes you have to trust your gut feeling.
