I just received the following Annonymous message

Well thank you very much.

Do you know what LDKK means?

Well no I don’t actually. Can you enlighten me mumsnet? Google doesn’t know. Do I need to be concerned?

Don’t think I’ve upset anyone.

How is it an anonymous message? Do you just mean like they haven't signed off with a name? Is the sending phone number visible? Why not just text back and ask who it is?

SirusTheVirus · 16/07/2021 22:21

@Aliceinunderland

According to urban dictionary, LDK appears to be a group of dog killers but no idea what LDKK is. If you get another text, I would log online with the police. Sometimes you have to trust your gut feeling.
😂😂
Budapestdreams · 16/07/2021 22:23

Is it a joke?

They ask if you know what IDKK means.

You say "I don't know, ok"

They laugh.

Not very funny I admit.

PushOrPull · 16/07/2021 22:23

@SirusTheVirus what's so funny?

Your extremely tenuous link Hmm

Gemma2019 · 16/07/2021 22:26

Have you tried putting the phone number into WhatsApp to see who it belongs to?

name4change · 16/07/2021 22:28

Later Dude Okay

JetBlackSteed · 16/07/2021 22:28

A message on what platform?
That might help.

Did you get a msg on messenger because you posted idk / ldkk on a random public Facebook post for example?

UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa · 16/07/2021 22:28

@Budapestdreams

Lock down Koala Karma? Living Dining Kitchen King? Lady damages kids knees? Large dragon kicks kids? Love dungeon kinky kiss?

No idea, sorry!

Oh, no! If a lady is damaging kids' knees, that really does need to be reported. Even more so for the kicking dragon!

Never mind non-emergency OP, ring 999. Now.

Clearly means Love Demons Kill Kill.

A Satanic Cult will be at the door in three minutes, don the hardhats ;)

GordonsAlive85 · 16/07/2021 22:47

I prefer lockdown killer kangaroos

@mygenericusername You could ask them?

@nocturnalcatfreetogoodhome I'm a Satanist and I can assure you that demons are lovely. Smile Satanists are far more likely to be drinking tea than killing. Smile

Maybe it's 'Love Demons, Krunch Krisps?'

mygenericusername · 16/07/2021 22:51

Sorry by anonymous I meant I didn’t recognise the number and it wasn’t coming up in google.

It does in fact belong to my very drunk former employee.

Still no idea what LDKK means still though.

I’m not even remotely bothered anymore.

Someone got a bizarre answerphone message from me last week about VAT on GNTF for the BSF.

I know it went to a wrong number, but only discovered that today when the person it was meant for hadn’t got the message and as they were on holiday they turned their voicemail off. I have no idea what number I called.

I hope they haven’t called the non emergency number for it.

mygenericusername · 16/07/2021 22:53

And for all the posters saying I was being ridiculous by calling the non emergency number. Yes, yes. I know but I’m on my own in the middle of nowhere tonight. I managed to seriously freak myself out rather quickly.

I googled it and apparently its a company o.O or community games m.facebook.com/LDKKCommunityGames/photos/?ref=page_internal&mt_nav=0

dryasaboner · 16/07/2021 23:14

Ahh the old MN log it with 101

a1poshpaws · 16/07/2021 23:17

If it came from an actual number, not "unknown caller" then you can find out who called here: who-called.co.uk/

It's really useful - I use it a lot.

Anyone can add whatever they want to urban dictionary. Most the entries are just teenage boys bigging up how “gangsta” they are or kids desperate to get create new sayings a la mean girls and ‘clutch.’
Bortles · 16/07/2021 23:24

OP hasn't answered re. their having a dog? Could it be a clumsy threat that former employee would hurt them?

mygenericusername · 16/07/2021 23:26

@PolitePixiepeep

That’s terrible. My ex employee was a contractor who charged me thousands in hours he didn’t undertake. I haven’t paid his last invoice and am taking him to court.

He’s obviously not very happy despite claiming he’s going to win to anybody that will listen. Oh well!
