Can I wear this to a wedding?

Just that really. Going to a wedding in 2 weeks and need a new dress.

I seem to be drawn to floral on white and am wondering if I can get away with it or if it's still a faux pas?

Can I wear this to a wedding?

It's a beautiful dress but not for a wedding.

Kjr33 · 16/07/2021 15:34

I think that’s fine for a wedding, maybe play up the colour in your accessories though? If that were with a nice blazer and bright shoes/bag/hat type stuff you wouldn’t notice how white it is

Randomness12 · 16/07/2021 15:35

I’d say no personally, too white and not enough pattern for me.

topwings · 16/07/2021 15:35

I think it's fine, it doesn't look remotely like a wedding dress!

EmeraldShamrock · 16/07/2021 15:35

It's perfect for a wedding, adding some coral/peach accessories and bag.

PurpleDaisies · 16/07/2021 15:35

Fine in my opinion.

Cheerio21 · 16/07/2021 15:36

I think a lot more people wear white to a wedding now but I personally couldn't!
Lovely dress though!

MordredsOrrery · 16/07/2021 15:36

It doesn't look very wedding-y to me, although I can't really explain why. Sorry.

EmeraldShamrock · 16/07/2021 15:36

I don't like the material it works itself up towards your bottom as you walk.

HappyTimeTunnelDinosaur · 16/07/2021 15:37

It is a white dress, it really depends if you think the bride would be ok with it. Personally I'd probably try to find something different just in case as, although it's perhaps a bit silly, I'd not want to risk a brides feelings on such an important day.

UrAWizHarry · 16/07/2021 15:37

Nobody is going to mistake that for a wedding dress if that is your concern. Go for it, it's lovely!

AryaStarkWolf · 16/07/2021 15:37

I would say yes, there's other colours in it and looks nothing like a wedding dress

ChatterMonkey · 16/07/2021 15:38

I probably wouldnt, but accesorized right and you might be ok. Pull out the darker peach colours as your anchor colour and it shoud draw attention away from the white.

Do you know the bridesmaid colour? If the birdesmaids are in a peach/coral/orange colour then it would look too much like trying to be one of the bridal party (white and bridesmaid colour together)

No it isn't , it's a white and pink and green dress
reluctantbrit · 16/07/2021 15:39

I love it. I wore a similar one but in my case I knew the bride wasn't wearing white.

Pedalpushers · 16/07/2021 15:40

I don't think the bride would really care, I'm more concerned about being judged by other guests or her family Blush

I usually think if you have to ask, you already know the answer...

LakeShoreD · 16/07/2021 15:40

I think it’s fine, just no white accessories!

bananaboats · 16/07/2021 15:41

I'd say it's fine

ApolloandDaphne · 16/07/2021 15:41

It is a perfectly lovely summery floral dress and ideal for a wedding. I cannot understand the obsession on here for what you should and should not wear to a wedding. As long as you are not rocking a lacy white frock and veil you should be fine.

TooWicked · 16/07/2021 15:41

Of all of the colours you could choose from, no I wouldn’t choose something that is predominantly white to wear to a wedding.

Even in another colour I’m not fussed on that for a wedding, the ruched (is that what it’s called) bottom half makes it look cheap.

bellsbuss · 16/07/2021 15:41

It's fine for a wedding.

LittleGwyneth · 16/07/2021 15:42

I think you'll find that it's monstrously unflattering and that shirred fabrics are really uncomfortable, but I think the colour is fine.

DancesWithTortoises · 16/07/2021 15:42

It's fine for a wedding. Only a very silly guest would think otherwise - unless you accessorise with a veil.

Beowulfa · 16/07/2021 15:43

I didn't realise what the potential issue was until other posters mentioned colour. It's a pale patterned summer dress, nothing like a classical white bridal gown.

LemonRoses · 16/07/2021 15:44

Its lovely and very suitable for a wedding in summer.
