In not being able to find a reasonably priced pen that works well!

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced ball point pen, please. I am looking for something that is not scratchy and doesn't require endless scribbles just to get the ink to flow. I don't mind paying more for something that works well. Is it just me or is it hard to find a good option? Thank you.

Pilot gel rollerball pens are the best. Not reasonably priced, but Mont Blanc are fantastic.

Bic for me, always. I've never had an issue with them and always used them

You need a gel pen. Pilot and Papermate both do great ones.

My current favourite are Zebra ballpoint. - I get a mixed pack with pink, purple, green black and blue in. (Although I do find they smudge on shiny surfaces - so I don't use them in greetings cards).

I've always found BIC biros fine too.

Before covid, I used to pick up a certain type of promotional pen at conferences, based on a papermate I think, but obviously that particular supply has been cut off now and last year I found myself having to buy a pen for the first time in about 20 years.

I got a pack of BIC biros as an Amazon add on item to get free postage, and am happy with those.

I like bic atlantis. I buy boxes of black ones from amazon.

I use a cross fountain pen. It wasn't cheap - think it was about £60. But other than replacing cartridges it's been a one off cost.

bic 4 colour biros last very well.

and I currently like Sarasa pens too in lots of nice colours.

this with a broad ballpoint refill is my pen for home use.

I’m obsessed with pens. For a ballpoint I’d second the Papermate Ink Joy. I also absolutely love the Uni Emott but that is a fine liner - they write beautifully

As PPs say, Inkjoy disposables with the triangular barrel are good, too.

I write a lot. Have also tried a lot of pens. Still keep coming back to bic. Crystal or orange barrel.

I use a Franklin Covey retractable ballpoint, also a Fisher Space Pen. Also a medium nib Parker Fountain Pen (a gunmetal grey with quite a chunky barrel, can't remember the name). I adore that one, but the top does fit well any more 😢. It cost around £30 I think, but have had it years.
The Lamy pens (ink) write very nicely, but I don't like the shape. Nice inks though, and a lot of people love them 😍

Ink Joy without a shadow of a doubt. The pen of choice for DS1's exams too- you can definitely write faster!

I have a lovely Cross one, though I couldn’t tell you a model as it was in a set - it has Darth Vader engraved on it 😁
Though can’t go wrong with the Parker you can usually get for about £10.

I love bic crystal, uniball eye and Parker Jotter Maxi.
