She was a style icon yet she’s in one of those frumpy waist belts that were only in fashion briefly. The face does nothing to represent how beautiful she was. It’s too harsh.

She really wasn't a stunning natural beauty.
She scrubbed up well.

Does it matter either way though? She was somebody's mother. To whom she mattered, her looks were irrelevant.

ajandjjmum · 07/07/2021 19:19

Horsey??? She didn't like horses, and looked less like one than pretty much any other woman I've seen. I get the point you're making of her being 'that type' of upper class woman - but she really wasn't.

Equally agree that whilst she was not a stunning beauty in the acknowledged sense, she absolutely shone - partly down to her personality, no doubt helped by the money to look after herself.

awaynboilyurheid · 07/07/2021 19:26

Not horsey at all, have you muddled her up with Princess Anne?
She was stunning and had amazing style.

VerticalHorizon · 07/07/2021 19:27

Red Rum was very horsey.

RamItBunty · 07/07/2021 19:53

Scared of horses? Yes that why she was seeing skeazy equestrian James Hewitt, overcome fear of horses….that worked out well

BirdsandBeesmakinghay · 07/07/2021 19:54

He was there to teach her sons. You obviously don’t know much about her.

RamItBunty · 07/07/2021 19:58

Yes and in that context he met Diana and they conducted an affair
Hewitt was tasked with helping her over come her fear of horses eg to give her, umm riding lessons… that worked out well. The riding

VerticalHorizon · 07/07/2021 20:00

seeing skeazy equestrian James Hewitt

He wasn't equestrian, he was born in England!

RamItBunty · 07/07/2021 20:04

@BirdsandBees a cursory google will reveal that Hewitt was an equestrian who offered to teach Diana how to ride when she disclosed her fear of horses. It’s actually really well known out there fact

BirdsandBeesmakinghay · 07/07/2021 20:08

I understood he was there to teach her sons. That is what I have read. Maybe he helped her too.

RamItBunty · 07/07/2021 20:17

He was engaged to give her riding lessons, that was quite prophetic wasn’t it. Riding.Lesson
