or in your private parking space?

You point it out to them that they are parking on your private space and they mumble a sorry and walk off without moving their car...

I have blocked them in. AIBU?

YANBU

HollowTalk · 28/06/2021 16:43

I would've said, "Move your car or I'm getting it clamped."

FelicityPike · 28/06/2021 16:43

I would phone the non emergency number and report it or phone a tow company & get it moved.

FlippertyFlip80 · 28/06/2021 16:43

Incidentally, there are other places on the road that they could park...

I can't get over the gall of it! How does anyone think that's OK?

OP posts:
Rillington · 28/06/2021 16:43

I would make sure you drink alcohol and then you cannot possibly move your car.

FelicityPike · 28/06/2021 16:44

Or clamped.

TeapotCollection · 28/06/2021 16:44

I’d have blocked them in too

Actually scrap that, I’d have said “Oi, I need you to move it please not just walk off!”

TheQueef · 28/06/2021 16:45

Is it a one off like a carer?
Don't block them in it'll only escalate.

Justmuddlingalong · 28/06/2021 16:46

When they come to the door, mumble a sorry and close the door.

Terminallysleepdeprived · 28/06/2021 16:48

Yabu as there is no diagram which is a necessity for this sort of thread.

However, blocking them in is perfect reasonable and as others have suggested have a glass of wine so you can't drive it

GreenCrayon · 28/06/2021 16:48

I would have blocked them in too and then had a drink so I couldn't possibly move my car. Wink

Then I would have gone online and ordered penguin bollards. Grin

ApolloandDaphne · 28/06/2021 16:48

They are cheeky fuckers! Now you have blocked them in your need to either go out by foot or have a few large drinks so you can't move your car!

Soubriquet · 28/06/2021 16:49

Why didn’t you just say “no not sorry. I need you to move your car. It’s my space”

Howshouldibehave · 28/06/2021 16:49

Bloody cheek! Is it your private driveway or a shared car park with numbered spaces? Did you see where they walked off to?

Heyyeahyouwiththesadface · 28/06/2021 16:49

Were they male or female?
Is it a drive or a private space that isn’t right outside your front door so they don’t know which home is yours?
It would make a difference tbh as to what I would do but good on you! Let us know how it goes.

piefacedClique · 28/06/2021 16:50

Good for you! Cheers! No enjoy your double gin and tonic so you can’t move your car when they return 🍻

loubylou1010 · 28/06/2021 16:50

I'm raging for you!

thenewduchessofhastings · 28/06/2021 16:50

I'd block them in and not need to go out again for a few days...........

Cherryana · 28/06/2021 16:50

This has happened to me but we just told them and they moved the car.
If they don't move the car after you tell them, that is very strange, and they are being very disrespectful.

Tangledtresses · 28/06/2021 16:51

Totally let the tyres down but just a bit....

FlippertyFlip80 · 28/06/2021 16:51

They managed to get out Angry and left a note saying it didn't say private (I told them it was private and there are 4 signs up all over the car park saying private parking).

It's the entitlement that gets to me. "I don't care that it's your space, it doesn't say private over this specific spot so I'm still going to park here". I told them we pay to have that space.

When they return, wave an empty wine glass at them, 'sorry, I'm over the limit!'

FionnulaTheCooler · 28/06/2021 16:51

Same as other posters have said, I'd block them in and take my sweet time moving. I'm off work for the summer holidays now so it could be several days before I actually need to use my car again.

Notwavingbutdrowing3 · 28/06/2021 16:53

Yanbu

GreenCrayon · 28/06/2021 16:53

They managed to get out

Arrrgggh that's so bloody frustrating. Cheeky fucker won't now think twice about doing it again.

Get thee some penguins ASAP.
