To ask if fake nails should look like this or should I go back to shop...

Had nails done on Sunday ready for wedding later this week, 3 days later and several nails look pretty untidy.
I don't often get nails done so wanting opinions if this is reasonable or if I should go back to shop and ask for them to redo the worst ones?
Was done by the manager herself, have been a few times over the last few years and always been happy.

Not really interested in opinions about extension in general, just whether these look like they were done shabby-ly or if this is normal 3 days later. Most nails look like the ones in the photos.

Thanks

Photos are pretty bad, phone camera not playing ball, but I think you can see the bit I'm querying down by the cuticle.

Also it was Saturday not Sunday, so we're 3 days after

No, definitely not! They're lifting at the cuticles already and round the edges. I'd go back and ask for a fresh set or get a refund and go elsewhere.

Mrgrinch · 22/06/2021 08:04

What type of salon did you get them done in?

Atalune · 22/06/2021 08:05

They look like press on ones from Claire’s accessories.

I would go back and demand a redo.

Thank you. I thought that would be the case. But as I rarely have them done wasn't sure.

Not trying to be difficult but what do you mean? A nail salon Grin

They look like children’s play press on nails. I absolutely would not be having that. I would go back and ask for a more natural look.

TheMotherlode · 22/06/2021 08:09

They don’t look great OP, they look like stick on nails. Maybe ask for gels instead, they tend to look a bit less fake.

helpmeeee11 · 22/06/2021 08:10

Thanks everyone!
Back I go...

Have you been using loads of hand sanitizer? Last time I got my nails done, around September last year they told me to try and avoid the cuticles when putting in hand sanitizer as it dries them out and causes the nails to lift.

I actually haven't, but good suggestion. I hope that when I go back they don't imply that it's my fault they've lifted Confused

I go to nail salons every three weeks, the one I go to is owned and operated by Asian staff and it’s great, hygienic, does an amazing job so you’re totally wrong to just generalise like that

Cabinfever10 · 22/06/2021 08:28

The French Polish doesn't look right either I'm sorry to say

Mrgrinch · 22/06/2021 08:28

I didn't generalise at all and I'm really pissed off now. I'm not a racist and I constantly fight for equality for my own ethnic minority.

CorianderBee · 22/06/2021 08:28

Go to a different shop and have them removed and redone. They're terribly done

NautaOcts · 22/06/2021 08:29

@Mrgrinch I do know what you mean… but there are bad salons run by people of different ethnicity, and great salons run by people of different ethnicity. So asking OP if she went to an ‘Asian’ one assuming that would be bad is racist in my opinion,

The salon I go to has a lot of staff of Asian background and the people that work there are extremely skilled.

Yes OP I would go back and ask for a redo or refund.

NautaOcts · 22/06/2021 08:31

Personally I prefer a block gel polish colour on top rather than white tips but that’s entirely personal

EmeraldShamrock · 22/06/2021 08:31

I'd go back too.

exybusiness · 22/06/2021 08:34

Yeah they look dreadful. It's not just that they're lifting and shouldn't be, the French polish looks awful. It's far too low down the nail and looks so fake.

If they won't completely redo, then I'd either soak them off (carefully) or paint them on the day.

DeflatedGinDrinker · 22/06/2021 08:36

Sorry but they look utter crap. All wrong.
