To ask if fake nails should look like this or should I go back to shop...

Had nails done on Sunday ready for wedding later this week, 3 days later and several nails look pretty untidy.
I don't often get nails done so wanting opinions if this is reasonable or if I should go back to shop and ask for them to redo the worst ones?
Was done by the manager herself, have been a few times over the last few years and always been happy.

Not really interested in opinions about extension in general, just whether these look like they were done shabby-ly or if this is normal 3 days later. Most nails look like the ones in the photos.

Thanks

Good luck going back with your toddler. The salon I use doesn’t allow anyone other than clients on the premises - only 6 people at any one time - including staff. They have also banned anyone under 12! Too risky with all the chemicals apparently.

You could probably do a better job yourself with Elegant Touch or Kiss glue on nails. Your photos show nails of an unacceptable standard if done by a salon.

@helpmeeee11 this is what a well done French should look like. Sadly I looks like lack of experience/badly applied product. I'd be asking for a re-do and if they can't guarantee a level of satisfaction a refund

I'll just add to that - my nails still looked like that some 3 weeks later just a slight bit of growth Smile

Ooohhh they're nice @Chunkybutfunky87. Love the mix of the fade, tips and accent nail

ScottsThots · 22/06/2021 11:26

The white tips are way too big. They should be on the tips only and not occupying half the entire fingernail. Demand a refund and go somewhere else.

Update: prepared to be disappointed everyone!

Went back and spoke with the manager (who did the nails Saturday). She denied there was anything wrong with the shape of the nail or the proportion of white:pink. She said the 'lifting' at the cuticle was where the gel layer had spread (not sure if she was admitting a fault here or stating it as something to be expected).

She refused to refund or replace and instead spent about 20 minutes 'tidying up', aka using the file to make the edges look neater.

After which, as I was still upset about the look of the next, I left and went to the brand new salon next door who took the whole lot off and put some nice pink gel on. No extensions this time and possibly never again Grin

I don't have the mental energy to put anymore emotion into these nails or complaining further (getting married in 48 hours) but safe to say will be getting all nails done at new salon in the future.

I absolute understand your need to move on. Let it go and enjoy your nice pink nails. Have a great wedding! I hadn't actually realised it was your wedding rather than you being a guest at a wedding.

For those who were asking it was a glued on white tip with gel over the top. (I think).

Sounds much better OP.

Give that first salon a bad review. And best of luck with the wedding! 🍀👰

Blossomtoes · 22/06/2021 12:18

Oh dear. Hope my manicurist doesn’t see that, she’d have a conniption! Awful shoddy job.

WirKindervomBahnhofZoo · 22/06/2021 12:45

Hope you have a lovely wedding OP and enjoy your new nails!

Birkie248 · 22/06/2021 13:00

Glad you’ve got it sorted now. Best to forget about it, move on and focus on enjoying wedding!

Asian nail salons have always done a better job than English ones for me. Went into Debenhams and they literally just painted my nails. I've given up on shellac nails ruins your nail bed afterwards now I just use primark glue on one's!

Atalune · 22/06/2021 13:51

Glad you got it fixed!!

Good luck on your big day xx

Wrotten · 22/06/2021 14:02

Just leave a photo as a review and others will see they're fucking terrible.

DroopyClematis · 22/06/2021 20:42

Sorry OP but there's far too much white on your nails... the white goes too far down and look obviously fake. Were you after a French manicure?
I'd go back .
