I'm not interested in football but I think this

I saw that last night and he's totally right. How can Coca Cola be allowed to be brand of football, crazy.

SmidgenofaPigeon · 16/06/2021 14:58

Nooo Ronaldo is dodgy isn’t he?! He’s amazing at football but didn’t he pay off a sex worker he allegedly raped?

His first child was allegedly purchased too.

PixieKitten · 16/06/2021 15:09

Ronaldo is a superstar but has time for his fans. There's a brilliant video taken in Madrid with him dressed as a down and out kicking a ball around, nobody is interested apart from a small boy. Ronaldo removes his disguise and instant chaos

BearOfEasttown · 16/06/2021 15:13

I saw the video clip, and he prefers water to coca cola. That's it.

I can't see the big deal to be honest, and I don't think any more of him for doing it.

Or any less. Confused

Coco cola shares have plummeted though so I'm sure some people care 😁

Cynical move by a man who is heavily sponsored by Pepsi.

DarkDarkNight · 16/06/2021 15:16

Yes I loved this. It’s such rubbish product to have Coca Cola at a football tournament. I think there was a press conference with a bottle of Heineken on show as well which Pogba removed after this incident. It’s not exactly what athletes will (or should) be drinking during an elite competition.

I’m not a big football fan, but Ronaldo comes across well. There was a press conference where the press were laughing at a little boy attempting to speak Portuguese and he shushed them and had all the time in the world for the kid to ask his question.

So are you saying fans will see the video and think "OK I'd better drink Pepsi instead of Coke?"
We'll have to wait and see of course, but I think it might put people off Pepsi as well.

I have absolutely zero interest in football and hardly know who this bloke is, but I saw it and thought it was proper role model behaviour. 11yr old DS (who I presume does know who he is) reckons he's going to drink water from now on after seeing it - so I'm grateful to him Grin

HmmmmmmInteresting · 16/06/2021 15:27

I really like him. He's such a hard worker and is very inspirational.

ApplyWithin · 16/06/2021 15:27

Sadly he is another man who treats women as a collection of body parts for hire. He has paid women to grow and birth children for him, which he then removes at birth. They are deliberately denied their mother. I don’t see this as anything to admire.

You’re not even allowed to do that to dogs.

UhtredRagnarson · 16/06/2021 15:28

Coca Cola is pure junk. Any decent sportsperson would shun it.

If he is sponsored by Pepsi then it was a savvy business decision to remove the coke.

Would you still be in love with him (for this single action!) if he was ugly?

Didn’t he purchase one of his children?

Ozanj · 16/06/2021 15:31

Elite sportsmen don’t drink any of this yet are expected to flog it via sponsorships. I think that’s why he was fed up and it sends a clearer message to kids who want to follow him. Too many juniors get let down by family due to poor nutrition and by sending this message clearly it should help them too.

IHaveBrilloHair · 16/06/2021 15:41

I liked that too, and I have no interest in football.
I agree that water is better though!Grin

drpet49 · 16/06/2021 15:43

Happy to be sponsored by Pepsi. He is a hypocrite.

VestaTilley · 16/06/2021 15:43

I don’t have respect for a man who bought three of his children off their mothers.

LST · 16/06/2021 15:45

He couldn't do anything to make me like him. Literally nothing.

Floralnomad · 16/06/2021 15:46

Totally agree .

Deary me I hope that is sarcasm.
BumBurnerBum · 16/06/2021 15:51

If he is sponsored by Pepsi then it is probably in his contract that he contract be pictured with Coke.

Sn0tnose · 16/06/2021 15:53

I don’t understand why anyone is giving him credit for doing this. He’s earned money from Pepsi. He can hardly sit back and have his photo taken with a load of bottles of coke in front of him.

"I don’t understand why anyone is giving him credit for doing this. He’s earned money from Pepsi. He can hardly sit back and have his photo taken with a load of bottles of coke in front of him."

I think many people see this as promoting water over sugary/caffeinated/ artificially sweetened drinks.

Which can't be a bad thing IMHO.

CoRhona · 16/06/2021 16:04

Whatever the potential underlying conflicts are with pepsi/coke, the message was that water is better. Couldn't agree more 👏👏

DaphneMoonsSeattle · 16/06/2021 16:04

He loves himself enough for the both of you Grin

Demelza82 · 16/06/2021 16:05

He's sponsored by Pepsi, does no-one look into anything anymore?
