Sounds like a urine infection.

prettythepig · 01/06/2021 23:23

Feels like your peeing razor blades book an appointment with gp and while you wait drink cranberry juice

neroforte · 01/06/2021 23:23

thank you , i last had what i think was a urine infection around a month ago now but there was no blood, just the constant feeling of needing to pee and pain when i did which is why i am worrying more now.

You need to see a doctor and get antibiotics ASAP

neroforte · 01/06/2021 23:26

If there is blood in your urine you need medical help ASAP. Call 111.

Eilethya · 01/06/2021 23:27

Defo call the GP first thing. It might now be a kidney infection, you need ABX ASAP.

If pain in back gets worse, call 111 for out of hours.

Feellikeimsinking · 01/06/2021 23:27

If you are in the uk call 111 for an out of hours appt. otherwise if you wait until morning a pharmacist might be able to prescribe antibiotics(there are specific criteria for them to prescribe). I’m not sure if the blood in the urine might be outside of their prescribing remit. But at least when you call the gp you can then say the pharmacist referred you

neroforte · 01/06/2021 23:28

the thing is though that it feels exactly like my last urine infection which went away in about a day the only difference is that this one has a small amount of blood in it, where it is just sort of a pink colour

OP posts:
neroforte · 01/06/2021 23:28

i haven't got any pain in my back currently, just in vagina when i pee.

OP posts:
Lockheart · 01/06/2021 23:29

It doesn't matter if it's just a small amount, you need to see a doctor as soon as you can.

Nannyamc · 01/06/2021 23:29

Try cranberry tablets double the dose
If it does not work then antibiotics. Keep them at home and at the slightest sign take them. Drink loads of water

DeathByWalkies · 01/06/2021 23:30

I'd place money on it being a UTI or kidney infection. Do you have any pain in your lower back, off to one side? If so, that's your kidney.

You need medical attention pronto; call the GP first thing tomorrow and insist on being seen.

First time I had a kidney infection I didn't realise what was happening and after a week ended up getting a taxi to A&E because I was in agony, could no longer keep anything down and had starting vomiting bile. There was no suggetsion I was timewasting btw.

Mousetown · 01/06/2021 23:31

I’ve had this a few times. Antibiotics from the GP sorted it.

neroforte · 01/06/2021 23:31

thank u i think drinking water is something i need to work on anyway as i genuinely drink hardly any plain water, only rly monsters, sugar free fizzy drinks and maybe a glass of water lol

sbhydrogen · 01/06/2021 23:31

Could be any number of things, from having a short urethra to wiping from back to front, or by sex.

Definitely call the doctor to get antibiotics. You don't want it to develop into a kidney infection.

Henio · 01/06/2021 23:32

I agree with everyone else, call out of hours and speak to a gp ASAP you need antibiotics, drink lots of water too Flowers

WilsonMilson · 01/06/2021 23:33

Did your previous one clear up completely? Sometimes if utis are not treated properly or for long enough with antibiotics they can flare up again, or travel up and become an upper uti/ kidney infection / pylonephritis which can be quite serious and not something to be messed with.

I’d phone out of hours as you need antibiotics. I find Nitrofurantoin work best for me. If you can, take a soluable vitamin c tablet as it makes it harder for bacteria to adhere to the bladder wall, much the same way as cranberry juice.

How do you feel in yourself? If you feel fevered or ill, or low back ache, it may be a kidney infection which will require stronger antibiotics.

If you’re prone to Utis I would recommend D-Mannose capsules. They only work for e-coli caused utis, but that’s 75% of all infections, so worth a go. Available easily online and better than going on antibiotics all the time.

If you find that antibiotics don’t clear up the blood in urine you’ll need further investigation, but hopefully this is easily solved and just a simple uti. Good luck.

neroforte · 01/06/2021 23:34

i had sex the night before last, so it could be that now that u mention it?

OP posts:
WilsonMilson · 01/06/2021 23:34

Drinking Monster and fizzy drinks full of artificial crap won’t be doing your bladder or general health any good at all. I’d sort that out irrespective of the bladder issue.

OppsUpsSide · 01/06/2021 23:35

Have you eaten beetroot recently?

pinkcattydude · 01/06/2021 23:35

It might have not gone away properly hence it coming back worse. Get to a doctor and get it tested the last thing you want is a kidney infection too.

WilsonMilson · 01/06/2021 23:35

And definitely could be sex - always pee after sex, it’s an invitation for a uti if you don’t.
