Dickhead neighbour has the radio on in the garden...it's 7.45am FFS

I have had massive problems with my NDN's. Since I moved in 7 months back, the constant noise has been an issue. DIY with loud power tools every single day, music in house, music in garden, TV turned up if a music programme is on. Today takes the biscuit though. Usually he's out from about 8.15am on a weekend wielding his power tools. Today they already have the radio on in the garden and it's 7.45am FFS! Good job i'm moving soon!

Grasp the nettle and go and say something now

RainbowBriteUk · 29/05/2021 08:06

I said something when he played his music really loud last time and his response was to turn it up so loud it sounded like I was at a concert. He left the speaker outside and went inside to watch telly with his wife. Until going up to 11pm on a Sunday night. We have lots of families with young kids in the neighbourhood.

Get the hose pipe out...

MrsAudreyAlfredRobertsOBEHmm · 29/05/2021 08:09

Bloody hell, what a wanker. Good job you are moving soon them

RainbowBriteUk · 29/05/2021 08:13

He totally is! The noise is never ending!

The sawing and drilling has started now. Fucking hell. No wonder I hate weekends and prefer to be in work!

I actually think I would genuinely get the hose pipe out and spray it over the fence until the music stopped. Normally i wouldnt be so immature but if he wont respond to you asking him not to then you just need to take action!

Pottedpalm · 29/05/2021 08:20

Are they rental properties? I assume yours is as you are staying such a short time.

DrWankincense · 29/05/2021 08:21

This is when I'd love a pair of Inspector Gadget type extendable scissors to cut the power cables Grin.

RainbowBriteUk · 29/05/2021 08:23

@Kittykat93 The reprisals from it wouldn't be worth it.

Yes, rental. I just went to put my washing out and when I came back in, he turned the radio right up and then down again. No doubt that was for me.

Let it go. You're moving soon and he will be someone else's problem.

EvenRosesHaveThorns · 29/05/2021 08:26

What a spiteful berk. At least you are renting and can move!

RainbowBriteUk · 29/05/2021 08:26

It's just every fucking day. Last night he stopped banging and the DIY at 8pm and then they proceeded to get drunk and be really loud, still with the music on. Not what I wanted after a difficult day at work.

I'[m dreading moving day as he parks his van outside my back gate and may be difficult and refuse to move it.

OP posts:
RainbowBriteUk · 29/05/2021 08:27

He is fucking awful. They have zero respect for anyway. I have come to hate bank holidays because it's just an extra day of noise.

TheRebelle · 29/05/2021 08:28

Our old neighbours used to do this, I always fantasised about putting radio four on full blast and going out all day but I was too scared about what they’d do next.

Theunamedcat · 29/05/2021 08:29

Can you speak to your other neighbours maybe if you all play opposing stations and go out for a bit he will be stuck with the noise

RainbowBriteUk · 29/05/2021 08:33

@TheRebelle It's awful isn't it?

@Theunamedcat I think everyone is scared of his reactions. No one round here sits in the gardens in the sun. This is why! Constant noise! It's a lovely terrace otherwise. A really nice mix of people and everyone is friendly. Just these total and utter cocks spoiling it for everyone!

Call the police about the repeated harassment on 111 and see if that gets a response.

newnortherner111 · 29/05/2021 08:33

Or the council about noise.

Shareddriveagghh · 29/05/2021 08:39

Aa your renting please do report as a noise problem.

RainbowBriteUk · 29/05/2021 08:39

@newnortherner111 i'm moving in a few weeks so pointless now. If I called the police, the reprisals wouldn't be worth it. I doubt he would stop. I just want to get out of here now.

Does anyone know if he doesn't move his van on my day of moving, can I ring the police? It's parked in a back alley behind the terrace and would mean I couldn't get furniture past.

Thanks.

RainbowBriteUk · 29/05/2021 08:39

@Shareddriveagghh who would I report to?

OP posts:
RainbowBriteUk · 29/05/2021 08:41

I'm an absolute nervous wreck with it! He's a bully is what he is! How dare he just turn the music up when I went out to hang my washing out!

OP posts:
TheRebelle · 29/05/2021 08:41

Soul destroying, we lived there for ten years and we must’ve used the garden maybe five times in all that time because as soon as the sun came out the music would be on full blast, the power tools would start and the smell of weed would drift over.
