Is there a weird bug going around ?!

For a week now I’ve been feeling out of sorts on and off, really tired, a bit spaced out, like I’m coming down with something but a cold doesn’t appear, feeling a bit sick then it goes. Just wondered if there’s any weird bugs going around?! I had my jab nearly two weeks ago and I felt odd a day or two after that then it went but then I started to feel like this later that week. My partner is also feeling the same and he had his vaccine 4-5 weeks ago which makes me think it isn’t jab related so must be a strange bug?! It’s annoying as I think I feel better then it comes back again!

@Somethingsnappy

The title of this thread made me laugh. I am just imagining someone who's been on a desert island for a couple of years, comes back to the real world and.... Is there a weird bug going round at the moment? Grin
Haha yes...I was thinking, should I tell OP or will you??

But yes, I do think something is going around...like a cold that just get started

sansucre · 28/05/2021 21:00

OP, I felt like you described for about three weeks post my first Covid vaccination. By week four, I started to feel like myself again and all feelings of illness/sickness/feeling spaced out vanished.

Rainydays55 · 28/05/2021 22:19

Maybe it is related to my vaccine, I’ve really not felt great today as the day has gone on!

This happened though didn’t it. Some guy who had been living off grid wandered into society to get more fuel (I think) and had to have COVID explained to him when we wondered what was going on with all the masks. I need to try and find the story now…

Yes, London, same thing. Someone has stolen all my energy. Similarly to you I discounted vaccine as had second one last week and was ok after, similarly also, not like covid when I had that.
Just life sucked out of me, plus headaches. Slept 14 hrs yest and woke up feeling punched. What IS it?

kitkatsky · 28/05/2021 22:35

Yep. I'd just put it down to being sleep deprived with a young baby tho

The day after my vaccine I slept from muddy to 7pm and then from about 10pm through to 9am. I was knackered and felt so so rough. Starting to think it’s the vaccine and our immune systems having a response.

My vaccine was two weeks ago this weekend ?! Is it normal for side effects to go and come back again?!

OP posts:
Realitea · 28/05/2021 22:41

I felt like that for two weeks after my vaccine

Buttybach · 28/05/2021 22:45

My whole class team have had this and it's not covid as we have done LFT
My daughter and husband have also had it
My stomach feels like a washing machine and my head feels all squishy

phodopus · 28/05/2021 22:49

Someone I was speaking to said they felt out of sorts, not actually ill, just off, after their first vaccine (can't remember which one), but that was in the few days afterwards rather than weeks afterwards.

ThePearSquare · 28/05/2021 22:51

My DDs and DH have both been sick this week, throwing up all go a sudden and being very listless and spaced out. Each of them for better in a few days but apparently something is going around the girls nursery so it makes sense. It must be everywhere!
Apparently I have an iron stomach (for a change). Grin

BonesJones · 28/05/2021 22:53

I had this (wales) a couple of week ago. Vaccine couple of weeks before that so I don't think related, but exactly the symptoms described in the op. The fatigue was unreal! Really spaced out etc. too.

Summerfun54321 · 28/05/2021 22:55

Lack of vitamin D because the weather has been so bloody shite?! I felt better after I popped a vit D the other day.

CatsMcGoo · 28/05/2021 23:25

Do you have a carbon monoxide alarm? Carbon monoxide poisoning can cause similar symptoms that come and go and would affect other household members too

hellywelly3 · 28/05/2021 23:49

All of us at work have been feeling unwell. 3 out of 7 been off. Just feeling crap, sore throat aches all over, headaches. Ive started with a heavy ache in my chest this afternoon. Doctor’s given me antibiotics over the phone as could be start of chest infection. Had both vaccines x

Goldieloxx · 29/05/2021 00:13

Yes, tired, achey and bad stomach. A few people at my work are off for a virus, they have tested and it's not covid. Probably the relaxing of social restrictions means bugs going around again

Anoisagusaris · 29/05/2021 00:19

Apart from the whole ‘rona’ thing........…

Going around where exactly???

I doubt a bug doing the rounds in my area is going to cross hundreds of miles and/or seas to where you live.

HakunaYourTatas · 29/05/2021 00:23

I worried as you are describing exactly how I felt when I actually had covid and started feeling this way a couple of weeks ago go. I tested negative but it’s interesting others have felt like this. I also had the thought it may be hayfever / stress/ fatigue .

Might be worth seeing how you go but potentially seeing if you can talk to a gp even maybe blood test if it continues a while. Could be some sort of deficiency

cocoloco987 · 29/05/2021 07:14

I've been feeling the same with a sore throat that comes and goes and a headache that comes and goes too. The headache could be the muggy weather though. Last weekend I barely moved if the sofa, felt totally drained. I test twice weekly for work and none of my symptoms are the listed covid ones. I've had bugs like this before pre covid and it's definitely not the only thing going about

agododopushpineapple · 29/05/2021 07:19

Oh I’m the same! Have actually been sick twice too. I don’t know whether it’s the jab (had last Friday), a big or something else.

BipolarSunset · 29/05/2021 07:31

I definitely think it must be a bug going around 6/7 days this week I've felt so wiped out and nauseous. Not covid and definitely not pregnancy related.

Hopefully we all feel better soon!

Cam2020 · 29/05/2021 07:32

I keep getting this. I hobestly think it's the weather and Covid languishing/burnout (the situation, not the virus itself).
