To want a water and air tooth flosser thing?

Do they work?

I went to the dentist for the first time in ages for a check up. Think More then 8 years kind of thing

I had a gum infection a few years ago other then that I don't want to go to the dentist if I don't have an issue!

So I have to have 4 teeth out the wisdom ones and my husband went for his checkup Same time as me. He needed a filling and was told to go to the hygienist. I was told I didn't need it. I have really tight teeth but the dentist said no cavities etc and didn't say to have the hygienist as my teeth looked ok but cramped

Now I am wondering if I should get an air floss thing like the dentist has? Aibu to get one for home use?

I use the little stick things to go between my teeth. I am 28, is it too late to start an air flosser?

I have the Phillips. My dentist tells me my teeth are very clean; no bleeding gums. I am late 50s.
Just love it.

I love my Waterpik, I also occasionally use Tepe brushes and tape but the Waterpik is very effective.

Hmmm I'm just looking too. There are whitening ones as well, that take little tablets but surely you could put those in a normal one?

I have one. Love it!! Can't get floss between my teeth easily but my waterpik is so easy.

The Waterpik is brilliant. I put a little mouthwash in with the water and my teeth feel so clean afterward. It has greatly improved my dental hygiene.

Is Waterpik brand particularly better than the others or are they just the biggest?

My boyfriend has a water flosser and gave me the spare head for it and I absolutely love using it whenever I stay at his! It makes my teeth feel so clean!!

I love mine, totally recommend. My gums are in better condition and I get less discomfort.

I have a waterpik and it’s brilliant. It gets stuff out from your teeth way better than floss and your teeth feel so clean afterwards.

I do use the interdental brushes a few times a week too.

It’s also really good for kids with braces and comes with a special head for them.

My hygienist said that as my teeth are even a water flosser would be suitable. She said it wouldn't be suitable for crooked, overlapping or close together teeth. I haven't bought one though.

I absolutely love mine, top of the range WaterPik which has little tablets to whiten your teeth. Don't think the whitening works but my teeth are a lot cleaner than before, and my dentist complimented them. I use it 3 times a day, and take it to work to use after lunch!

I like my waterpik but have to use warm water in it as cold is too much for my sensitive teeth.

I have a non branded waterpick but I have fairly weak tooth enamel and found it gave me tooth sensitivity when i used it.

Now I use it for cleaning.... It does an amazing job or getting grut out from electric toothbrush heads and blasting the dirt from under the shower door slider thing!

I got the Phillips Sonicare one because I love the Sonicare toothbrushes but I hated it. It sprayed the water all over my face. (That was 4 years ago, though, so maybe they’re better now)

I bought one of these in lockdown. I filled it with water, switched it on and it nearly blasted my lips off. Too scared to try it again. I really wanted it to work but it was just far too powerful.

There's a definite knack to using them. Took me a couple of goes to get the hang of it. First go I was jetwashing the bathroom. Grin

PowerFloss is the best! Cheaper and non-electric. It's like a water pistol mechanism but designed well so it really gets out in between DD's braces

I have one, it was maybe 30 quid on Amazon. I love it and it's greatly improved my gum health. I still use regular floss too though.

I've got a water pick but they are soooo messy. I've gone back to tepe flossing

A FB friend of mine basically reversed her need of root canal treatment through using one of these, as the infection went away!
I am very prone to plaque; it builds up no matter what I use (the wee interdental brushes), so I would be interested in one of these.
If anyone would be kind enough to post a link (good, but not too pricey!), I'd be very grateful.

DH has a water pic, I find it too much for my gums even on the lowest setting.
