Answering the door mask less ?

demiwav · 27/04/2021 17:39

Am I ok to answer my front door without wearing a mask. For example if it's a quick hello and thank you as driver hands me pizza.

I would answer it if a door to door fundraiser knocked for example and I May be talking for some time .. however not sure if it's expected for opening the door to deliveries .

What do you think?

Wouldn’t occur to me to put a mask on, they are outside and not within 2m.

demiwav · 27/04/2021 17:42

*wear a mask rather to the fundraiser

I wouldn't have thought to put a mask on tbh... I'm in my home.

littlepeas · 27/04/2021 17:43

Not sure what the official advice is but I wouldn’t wear a mask in my own home.

Tal45 · 27/04/2021 17:43

It hasn't occurred to me to put one on to answer the door. I would not expect door to door fundraisers though during a pandemic to be honest, and certainly wouldn't be having long chats with them.

HumunaHey · 27/04/2021 17:43

Why have you only just considered this? No, I wouldn't wear a mask to answe3the door.

Happycat1212 · 27/04/2021 17:43

Wtf Confused

araiwa · 27/04/2021 17:43

I would

@Temp023 does your pizza get thrown at you?

IHaveBrilloHair · 27/04/2021 17:44

Eh no way, it's my home and I'm not wearing a mask in it.

demiwav · 27/04/2021 17:44

We have had a few fundraisers lately. I answered thinking they were delivering a Parcel. Tried my best to keep it short by saying I was cooking but then they asked me what I was cooking .

The delivery driver had a mask on and asked if I had one .

I only open to expected visitors. I check my cctv. If I dunno who they are, I'm not answering.
I don't wear a mask at home. I used to wear gloves to accept deliveries from Amazon.

ShutUpAlex · 27/04/2021 17:45

Why would you wear a mask to answer your front door?!

WrongKindOfFace · 27/04/2021 17:46

Did you answer, ‘fundraisers’?
SmileyClare · 27/04/2021 17:46

No I don't it's necessary. We've had Dominoes several times and they leave it on the doorstep and move right back. In fact all deliveries have been the same;, no close contact at all.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 27/04/2021 17:47

Would never have considered wearing a mask to answer the door!

I’ve put one on when people have come in to quote for work but that’s not really the same.

GreyhoundG1rl · 27/04/2021 17:47

🙄. It takes literally seconds to hand over a pizza. Get a grip.

PinkPlantCase · 27/04/2021 17:48

I only put a mask on to answer the door if it’s someone who needs to come in my house. A midwife or a trades person for example.

No mask for deliveries as they all stand well back.

GirlCrush · 27/04/2021 17:48

ive never seen any delivery company wear a mask

who asked you to wear one op

Boood · 27/04/2021 17:48

So
“What are you cooking?”
“That’s none of your business”
“Do you have a face mask?”
“That’s none of your business”

GreyhoundG1rl · 27/04/2021 17:50

@Boood

So “What are you cooking?” “That’s none of your business” “Do you have a face mask?” “That’s none of your business”
Really? What a delight you are 😂
demiwav · 27/04/2021 17:50

The pizza guy had a mask on. I haven't had any deliveries made by anyone in a mask before . The pizza guy asked if I had a mask. It took seconds yes.
