My 6 year old told me tonight that he wished he could delete me so I didn't exist. He was immediately sorry but fuck me it hurt. What's the worst thing yours has ever said to you?

My Daughter attacked me with a knife and told me if I didn't piss off and die in a ditch she'd do the job by the end of the week. I'm really looking forward to.sleeping tonight.

ChazP · 25/04/2021 19:42

3 days after the birth of our son, our 5yr old daughter wrote me a note that she announced she would read out to me. It read:

“Dear Mummy, I don’t want to be in this family anymore”. I sobbed and sobbed, not helped by post-birth blues. I just couldn’t hide it. Daughter saw and then immediately also burst into tears.

Jumpers268 · 25/04/2021 19:44

@B33Fr33 oh god. I'm so sorry that's awful! And really puts things in perspective. Again, I'm so sorry. @ChazP yeah, I cried hard.

Not as bad as these but saw me getting undressed (she's 4)

"Mummy you are SO chubby".

Cheers kid.

AccidentallyOnPurpose · 25/04/2021 19:47

When DD was about 3/4 she told me magic wasn't real and wishes don't come true. I asked her why she's saying that. "Because I asked for a better mummy and it never happened!".She was properly disappointed too.Grin

She was mortified a few years later when I told her the story and kept apologising.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 25/04/2021 19:50

DS has never said anything along the lines of "I hate you" etc. Once I went to the gym and didn't have time to shower before I picked him up from school and when he came out and hugged me he shouted out that I stunk in front of everyone. Grin

OverTheRainbow88 · 25/04/2021 19:50

My 4 year old said I hate you. That stung

OverTheRainbow88 · 25/04/2021 19:50

@B33Fr33

How old is she?

Are you safe?

HandforthParishCouncilClerk · 25/04/2021 19:51

My son has never said anything to me - he has complex disabilities so likely never will either. I find that really hard to deal with tbh.

ChaBishkoot · 25/04/2021 19:52

I once told my mother aged 6/7 that I would like to exchange her for a new Mummy.
To her credit she rolled her eyes and teased me about it. My mother has now passed away but she was a wonderful mum and we had a great relationship and I had a happy childhood.
Kids are just dickheads sometimes.
(My dad asked me why I wanted a new Mummy and apparently i wanted someone who didn’t tell me to eat my food and brush my teeth everyday!)

Well just this evening my daughter told me she can't stand to live with me and I'm a horrid person!

TeenMinusTests · 25/04/2021 19:53

'You're not my Mum' - DD1 when she was ~18. We adopted her.

I'm so sorry. I guess we take things for granted sometimes. Without even thinking.

That made me laugh, thank you! In fairness it's because he has school tomorrow and I should let him not go to school 🙄. I should've rolled my eyes, but I just burst into tears. Ahhhhh. Kids are dicks sometimes.

It does cut deep don't it @BrownEyedGirl80. I tried to brush it off but it completely winded me!

Oh, DS did say that he wanted to live with his dad when he is older, he can't right now as his dad works shifts and DS is too young to be left home alone. That did make me sad as although his dad is involved, I am the RP and do the majority of parenting. I'm hoping he will forget he said it when he's older! I'd let him if he really wanted to but I'd be gutted.

B33Fr33 · 25/04/2021 20:06

She's 13. I guess I will know tomorrow.

McSleepy · 25/04/2021 20:10

My work has been ridiculously busy recently and I’ve been working very long hours and feeling so stressed I’ve not been myself. I booked a week off at Easter and was meant to finish on the Tuesday...ended up working late then got up v early to fit in a last few hours before finishing. As my husband was taking them to school, I came out of the office to say goodbye and that they’d have me to themselves from when they got home from school. My 9 year old turned to me and said ‘who is that strange woman?!’ He was joking but that made me feel so awful! Mum guilt at it’s best.

TheVolturi · 25/04/2021 20:13

Dd 3 said I was rather fat and old. I blame peppa pig for the way they talk about daddy pig!

topcat2014 · 25/04/2021 20:18

@TeenMinusTests

That must have been hard?

speaking as someone whose adoption broke down after a short period

EmeraldShamrock · 25/04/2021 20:19

My DS 6 tells me how I look like a granny when my hair is tied back.
DD hurt me once accidentally when she was 8 she said "mam remember when you use to look and dress nice" it jerked me into reality, I was messy and unkempt after DS for the first 3 years he is a chronic crying child nowadays I make an effort to put on fresh clothes, hair & makeup.

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 25/04/2021 20:19

"You look like Peter Griffin right now..."

I was laying down with my head propped up which gave me a double chin.

I couldn't form a sentence I was so indignant.

NewlyGranny · 25/04/2021 20:20

"Lent" DD2 the money to buy her first car so she could get to her first ''real" post-grad job. We set up a repayment plan so she could pay me back gradually - interest free. She never paid back a single penny despite living at home.

When I pushed, she said, "You don't need that money - your life is over!" I was just 60...

Dextersdaddy · 25/04/2021 20:28

My first baby Dexter died when he was 12 months old, we've since had a little girls. We were talking about their brother one day when the youngest who was 3 at the time looked at me and said "Dexter will stink now, cos he's dead". I could've drop kicked the little witch out of the window!
