AIBU to ask what has been your most spectacular wardrobe malfunction?

So I got to work today and realised I completely forgot to put a bra on this morning...!

Luckily I'm not particularly large of chest and was wearing a dress that billowed out at the top, so I don't think anyone noticed. But it's certainly not my worst wardrobe malfunction - that would be the time I wore 2 totally different knee length boots to work (one with a stiletto, the other with a block heel - of course no one said anything until our team meeting, then cue lots of laughter at my amusing choice of footwear...!)

So AIBU to ask, what has been your worst fashion mistake or malfunction?

I once broke the zip on the back of my jumpsuit while in the middle of an all-day deposition with lawyers who had flown over from America especially. I had to sit there for hours with it completely unzipped under my suit jacket. It was one of the most stressful days of my life.

Probably the most spectacular was my Mardi Gras costume coming undone at the very start of the parade route in Sydney. The fasteners on the corset snapped at the back so the crowds got to see a bit more of me than I had expected!

I once webt to work with each she different. They were similar but not the same (black and and white vs whote and black) and in my defence it was 5am when i was catching the bus.

I started a new job. Flew to head office for my first senior management meeting that lasted a few days. Morning of day 1 I walked through the office with my skirt tucked into my knickers (hot country, wasn't wearing tights). I didn't speak for the rest of the meeting!

In my twenties, a lovely cotton wraparound mini skirt. Somehow, as I was striding along confidently, it decided to unwrap itself completely and fall to the ground...

My worst one was the top half of my swimming costume rolling down to the waist on a long water slide.
Made even worse by the fact that the slide was overlooked by a restaurant full of people.

I was at a dinner meeting somewhere Very Posh when I realised my dress was both inside out and back to front, the Primark label sitting at my collarbone like a crap brooch.

Ooooh several.

In my teens, walking along in cheap new look shoes, one of the heels snapped off and I hate to wait for the bus on one foot.

At secondary school where I managed to wear two entirely different shoes and didn't notice until midday. One was lace up, one was not.

And in my early twenties and a naice do with my parents. I had been dieting and was feeling rather confident with my body so wore a gorgeous deep red dress. It was skin tight to the bum with a floaty bottom. The zip burst half way through the dinner and I very quickly had to steal my dads dinner jacket. Fortunately I was sat down so nobody saw anything, but I did feel a bit of a tit in his huge jacket and I made my excuses rather quickly.

When ds was 3 weeks old I was very sleep deprived. However, I managed to get us all up in the morning, drop 3 year old dd off at nursery on time (had a quick chat with the staff) , whizzed round the supermarket with newborn ds, popped into the hospital for a blood test (and had nice chat with the phlebotomist). Sat on a bench outside and breastfed ds quickly and arrived home all by 10.00am.

When I got home I felt so accomplished. I'd successfully parented and adulted with 2 young dc. Took off my coat and realised that in the morning rush I'd forgotten to put on my skirt - I'd spent the morning prancing round in a short coat, a t-shirt and some 40 denier tights which did nothing to hide my massive post birth nickers.

Forgetting to put my skirt on one morning and driving to work in just a slip.
Fortunately, I noticed when I got out in the car park, and turned round and went home again.

Trousers splitting in the middle of an all day work event with no opportunity to go home and change, lots of sitting or standing with back against the wall

I went out for the day with an ex and his parents, and early on in the day, one of the heels of my boots fell off. I spent rest of the day walking with one foot on tiptoe. Luckily nobody noticed - it was in the days of boot cut jeans that were a little too long.

I also booked a walking tour of a national park as a cruise excursion. At the start, the strap on one of my sandals snapped and I had to walk for several miles trying to balance a flapping sandal on my foot. Ever since, i have always popped a cheap pair of flip flops in my handbag!

Not exactly a malfunction, but a few years ago, on a lovely summers day, I put on a new top. No jacket because it was sunny. I'd got to work before realising my left tit had a sticker on it saying £8, George at Asda. The top had a black and white pattern which meant I hadn't noticed the black and white sticker. Hopefully neither did my fellow commuters.

I think my all male colleagues left it longer than necessary to tell me the buttons on my tight blouse had popped open and I was sat there sharing a view of my ample cleavage to all.

I get up early to commute. I once wore two odd black suede boots. One was flat and one had a block heel so I ended up limping. Luckily I had a spare pair of shoes at work!

I had the same shoes in black and navy. Went to work in one of each.

Sitting on a towel on the bed after a bath, didn't notice it had tucked into my clothes and went out with a towel hanging like a tail. No-one mentioned it.

No knickers, it didn't matter because my skirt was long. And lightweight. So light it tucked into my tights at the back when I went to the loo, and I didn't notice. A stranger-woman kindly told me I had a bare arse.

New blouse came undone all down the front. I didn't notice. I got lots of very friendly smiles and 'Hello!'s from men. Wondered why I was so popular.

Lost weight. Three times recently skirts have fallen off, without warning, while I was wearing them. Actually fallen off, in the street. Luckily, on each occasion I was wearing leggings under, so didn't feel too exposed. I don't trust skirts at all now.

Arrived at vvvvv posh work do in a taxi. Boss was greeting people at the door. He opened the taxi door for me with a very gentlemanly “good evening Ms Toes” and I very gracefully swivelled in my seat to exit the car without flashing my pants. As I stood up the sticky bit at the top of my hold-ups failed me entirely and the right one slid down my leg and pooled at my ankle. I was mortified!

Hold up stockings that didn’t.

I was going to a summer ball with a fairly new boyfriend. I was actually ready early and decided to paint my nails while I waited for him to pick me up. Spilled the nail varnish in my lap! I sponged off what I could but had nothing else suitable to wear. The dress had a waist sash and a dropped frill skirt - which is where the nail varnish splodge was. So I had to take the sash from my waist and tie it round the dropped frill - which was mid thigh level. Spent the whole evening having to make sure it didn't fall off and keep adjusting it.

I was on a night out with my friend, we were starting off the evening in a local pub and I was all dressed up in a pretty dress and had some fancy new lacy underwear on too. The knickers were the kind that had ties at the side and not much in the way of elastic and whilst I was walking through the pub they just fell off onto the floor and I had to quickly grab them and sprint to the toilets. I don't think anyone noticed, if they did they were kind enough not to all point and laugh anyway! I had to go home and change them before we got the bus into town!

I wore a top to work that turned out to be see through.

Buttons coming undone on blouse- I tend to sew them up now.

Had a whole conversation with the (female) dogwalker about my new baby. She left and I went back inside and realised my top was still pulled down to expose the right side of my lacy nursing bra. I must have clipped the cup back up (luckily!) and thought I was sorted.
