He does nothing for me, but he's OK.

Packham is no twat. He's a man of integrity and no small degree of courage, given the threats and intimidation both he and his stepdaughter have suffered for standing up for what they believe in. I also found his insights into ASD extremely moving: his ebullient demeanour onscreen gives no clue as to the solitary and often difficult life he's lived.

All the above - not least the kind of passion he shows for his subject of interest - makes him attractive. And yes, I do think him physically attractive too, although there is absolutely no need for the 'struck out' comment (why do people love strikethrough so much on this site? It looks ridiculous).

If such a blatantly sexist comment had been made about a woman on this site the OP would be lambasted for it and rightly too. Doesn't give us carte blanche to go doing the same thing to men: and this one does come across as a thoroughly decent man, too.

I've been to a few of his talks. He was lovely and seemed very down to earth.

No...Sadly because he seems absolutely lovely but he would drive me nuts.
I don't find him attractive either.

Not unreasonable at all ... my husband us also a tall, birdwatcher, in his 50s, but geeky. I live in a house of bird books

Watched him in something a couple of days ago and thought how lovely he was. He said he was 59 in the programme. Even DH said "

In what way has he been a twat?

I’m genuinely curious. The way he stands up for the environment is amazing as is the way he advocates and educates for certain species that are much maligned and some people would see them come to serious harm rather than want to help or understand them is admirable, such as foxes, wasps, spiders, rats etc.

No. Not at all.

Sorry, fat fingers

DH said "He looks good for 59" and he doesn't usually comment like that!

I think he's gorgeous!

I've just heard stories about him punching people etc and for some reason he seems disliked on here Confused
I don't think he's a twat though. I love you Chris!

I find it so weird that statements like “I bet it’s huge too” are in any way acceptable. Imagine if a man posted about a female celebrity he fancied and put “I bet she’s really tight too”. Yuck 🤮

Why do you think he is a twat?

gingganggooleywotsit · 05/04/2021 17:17

Yes I’ve always fancied him since he was on the really wild show (I’m early 40s). However he seems quite conceited in real life. I went to a pets trade show and he was there, he was loving all the attention, saw me looking and just seemed a bit of a poser. Very handsome features and intelligent with it, I still would

Love Chris Packham! Not just his looks, also his character and love of the natural world.

Good people always project this kind of feel good vibe.

He’s handsome, intelligent and loves animals and nature - why would anyone think it unreasonable to fancy him? He may have some views that certain people disagree with etc but so does everyone. I hadn’t heard anything about him punching anyone, so if anyone is making him seem less attractive it’s you bringing up the fact that he may have done that! However my DP has also had fights in his youth. Doesn’t make him any less attractive either and certainly wouldn’t put me off a celebrity crush whom I have no chance of actually meeting (except that DP did actually meet Chris Packham once and had an interesting chat with him!)

I've fancied Chris Packham since I first saw him on TV in (I think) the 80s when I were a young lass!

I still fancy him now. Great bloke.

I saw him at the local county show a few years ago, strutting around the members enclosure on his own, flicking his hair and looking like he was hoping some fans would come over and flatter him. Nobody did, perhaps he might have been luckier outside with the general public. I wasn't impressed....
