DH comes home, sweaty, takes shirt off and sits on sofa

Thus transferring all body sweat on to the sofa, the covers of which will start to smell bad, and need to be taken off and washed.

This is pretty basic, right? Or am I BU to ask that if he is dripping with sweat he just has a quick shower or at least sits on a towel if he can’t do that?

I’m not talking a small amount of sweat here either.

Takes 5 minutes to have a quick shower. Yanbu

SisterAgatha · 30/03/2021 16:57

So that I am not drip feeding, he put his arm over the back of it too. So yes, armpit did make contact with the fabric which cannot be removed.

Why is he dripping with so much sweat?

Shoxfordian · 30/03/2021 17:04

Gross
Have you told him how disgusting it is?

SisterAgatha · 30/03/2021 17:06

He walked from the station and it’s hot. The mechanism of sweating doesn’t change the fact he’s put a sweaty wet body on the sofa though, surely Grin

No of course not, I was just wondering if he's been for a 20k home so is exhausted or he's just generally v sweaty. I'd have a little more sympathy for one although would shoo him upstairs than the other where it was oils be a proper sit down and chat thing

SisterAgatha · 30/03/2021 17:13

No, it was literally just a 10 min walk back from the station. I walked further with the kids on the school run, he’s just always been a v sweaty man.

stackemhigh · 30/03/2021 17:15

YANBU, that's gross. Let me guess - he does no cleaning?

UrAWizHarry · 30/03/2021 17:16

Yeah, that's gross. If I come back from a run or whatever sweaty I wouldn't sit on the sofa.

SleepingStandingUp · 30/03/2021 17:17

Did he go for the shower? I'll pull the cover off the sofa and when he comes down pass it to him. When he asks what's this say you're helping. What with? Well you wiped your sweat all over it, surely you're going to wash it?

Soubriquet · 30/03/2021 17:18

Stick a blanket over the sofa

At least then it will be protected from the mans west

Soubriquet · 30/03/2021 17:18

Man sweat

Why on Earth to autocorrect to mans west

SisterAgatha · 30/03/2021 17:19

He’s usually ok at the cleaning to be fair to him.

And he did go straight up for a bath when I said it (so he is having a lay down too technically Grin ) but he’s said I’m whinging. I went for a run today and had a shower before I sat on anything so I’m not saying I don’t sweat etc. Just don’t put your bare armpits on the furniture ffs Confused

Fucking hell

My sofa is less then a year old

would still bennefit from sweat to clean it

Yabu
Chill out!!!

Ohnomoreno · 30/03/2021 17:22

Wouldn't really bother me that much given what the kids do with the sofa. Bit of febreze will fix it.

thevicarstroketwice · 30/03/2021 17:23

Gross. He could put a clean and dry top if he wants to shower later.

SisterAgatha · 30/03/2021 17:23

I don’t usually clean with sweat though. Interested how that would pan out long term Wink

OP posts:
SleepingStandingUp · 30/03/2021 17:24

Eugh. So having wiped his sweaty armpits over the sofa he's now lying on a bath of his sweat. Boak

SisterAgatha · 30/03/2021 17:32

thevicarstroketwice without being too mean to him because he is a lovely (if sweaty) man, he would never have done that because of how sweaty he was when he got in. He’d have thought about not dirtying a new shirt... but not the sofa Confused

you do need to tell him!

It's no effort to add another shirt or tshirt to a load of laundry, it's not the same to wash a sofa!

I would have taken a shower if I was him, but some people are funny about taking 4 or 5 showers a day (when needed). I mean there's plenty of time to sweat again between 5 and bedtime.

mackleless · 30/03/2021 17:59

is he really unfit and fat?

jessstan2 · 30/03/2021 17:59

Get him to have a shower when he comes home.

jessstan2 · 30/03/2021 17:59

Put a throw on the chair.

kindlekeeper · 30/03/2021 18:02

Mine does this too, after dripping puddles through the house. He thinks it’s really attractive and I should be impressed that he’s just run 10k! It’s really vile
