Buffythechillislayer · 31/03/2021 18:52

Omg 21 pages in and still going! Can you please all book your mandatory vacations through me (I'm a travel consultant) - I haven't made any money for a year! Grin

Skippingabeat · 31/03/2021 18:55

@minou123
I don't know how to link to other threads on the app but it's in relationships "New neighbour wants me to be friends with his wife"

onwAndup · 31/03/2021 18:56

Haha, brilliant example of skim reading and confirmation bias Grin

Bramblebutter · 31/03/2021 19:00

Woooow...I read that about 4 times before I got it. Then I showed my DP and he read it OUTLOUD incorrectly Grin

Excellent trolling

RisingSunn · 31/03/2021 19:04

Finonia · 31/03/2021 19:06

Well - that is incredible I wouldn't say my attention to detail was that great but I read that as it is first time and didn't even make the connection that you were trying to dupe people - I thought it was a hell of a good idea.... I do work in travel though 🤣

PeapodBurgundy · 31/03/2021 19:07

Waits patiently to be sent on my mandatory reading comp course Blush Grin

ladynyland · 31/03/2021 19:09

We don’t live in China, you can’t force people to have a jab, it’s up to them, we don’t live in a police state

Thewiseoneincognito · 31/03/2021 19:10

Madonna Frozen only see what you eyes want to see is now on loop in my head.

TommyJoesMummy · 31/03/2021 19:11

I think this thread shows that we need the holiday! 😂
Can there be a mandatory contribution to help us to get to nice places?

WeMarchOn · 31/03/2021 19:12

I agree op! Vacations for everyone!

BrutusMcDogface · 31/03/2021 19:19

Hahaha!! I totally thought it was vaccinations too! Good one!

AnnoyedinJanuary · 31/03/2021 19:20

While I'm not for mandatory vaccines - what happens if it continues to spread amongst those who don't take it and it mutates again into a variant which we are no longer immune to - or which is more virulent? What then? Back to months of lockdown again....... it's different with smokers and snowboarders as one commentator said - they just harm themselves...... people who don't vaccine can harm others and make all this endless lockdown and ruined economies and people who have lost their businesses and jobs a complete waste of time....... the longer this virus continues to spread the greater the chance we have of another mutation - we've had 3 already - the second wave of the Spanish Flu was the more deadly one becauseit had mutated...... if it flips into another more contagious more virulent variant which is immune to the vaccine - we're finished. So yes - people have a social responsibility to step up and get vaccinated..... for all our sakes.

Babymamaroon · 31/03/2021 19:24

Haha this is brilliant. I totally agree!!!

Glenthebattleostrich · 31/03/2021 19:24

No absolutely not. I can't believe you would suggest such a thing. I am shocked and disgusted.

If everyone is on holiday there will be people everywhere and I'll have to wait at the bar, not on 🤣🤣

pam290358 · 31/03/2021 19:31

Not this specifically, but I think there should be consequences for refusing the vaccine without good reason (medical condition, pregnancy etc). If people couldn’t go on holiday or enter pubs/restaurants etc, they’d soon think twice. Don’t know how it’s enforceable though - lots of flaws to the floated ideas about vaccine passports. I do think not getting vaccinated requires an attitude adjustment - relying on others to keep you safe isn’t on, so maybe a media/press campaign is needed to educate people as to the benefits of vaccination and revisit the most serious effects of Covid. If the symptoms of Covid were like Smallpox, I don’t think there would be many refusing the jab. My partner and I had Covid earlier this year and although we weren’t hospitalised it was a dreadful experience. I’ve heard people who haven’t had it liken it to a bad dose of flu. It’s nothing like it and it’s truly the most ill I have felt in a long time. My GP said we had quite a nasty dose and it’s also very frightening because the symptoms simply get worse and you don’t know when - or if - you will start to feel better. The fear doesn’t leave you until you do start to feel better and it’s a very slow road to recovery. Six weeks on, we’re still exhausted and still coughing among other symptoms that seem to reappear at random. Get vaccinated people - I’ve just had the second dose of the AstraZeneca jab and although I feel a bit grotty, trust me, the side effects are nowhere near as bad as the disease.

pam290358 · 31/03/2021 19:34

Red faced. Just re-read it properly. Yes, would support this wholeheartedly !!
