Watched in Ashes to Ashes, and the Bodyguard

I'm now rewatching Line of Duty from the start (now on Season 2) and i think she is so different. Not one of those actors that always play the same kind of character, I didnt even realise it was her at first

I think she's brilliant!

PurpleFlower1983 · 25/03/2021 21:34

She’s brilliant and, as you said, so different in everything.

LaLaLouella · 25/03/2021 21:35

She's fantastic in pretty much everything she does!

Lockheart · 25/03/2021 21:36

Why would you be unreasonable to say someone is a good actress?

Gamefacer · 25/03/2021 21:36

I love watching stuff she’s in. So convincing and engaging as an actress.

PinkiOcelot · 25/03/2021 21:36

Getting a bit sick of seeing her in everything tbh, despite her being a good actress.

23PissOffAvenueWF · 25/03/2021 21:37

It’s a Sin. So good - but due to the whole cast, not just her.

Woodlandbelle · 25/03/2021 21:39

I hated Finding Alice and the Durrells but she is lovely. Would like to see her in something faster paced

Atalantea · 25/03/2021 21:40

I'm not sure what else i would have seen her in, i havent seen the Durrells or its a sin (will have to watch that)

just watching her in LOD - amazing

She is just amazing in Line of Duty.

spoilers for previous seasons of LOD below

Had me rooting for her in some scenes and then seconds later properly gasping at how evil and conniving she could be. Lynsey Denton is SUCH a good character and she was obviously having the time of her life playing her. The scene where she asks steve what will happen to her cat when she gets arrested had me in tears. Women actors over 35 must explode with joy when they get to play complicated characters like that.

AnneLovesGilbert · 25/03/2021 21:42

And Spooks! She’s bloody brilliant in everything.

Enidblyton1 · 25/03/2021 21:43

Yes, absolutely brilliant. I think I first remember her from Tipping the Velvet and thinking what a clever actress she is. Never tire of seeing her because she plays each part so differently.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 25/03/2021 21:43

I'm watching Line of Duty for the first time. She is amazing in it.

Xyzzzzz · 25/03/2021 21:43

It’s a sin. She really comes into it towards the end. Amazing

Lessthanaballpark · 25/03/2021 21:44

I like her. She was great in Honour

JustLyra · 25/03/2021 21:49

She was excellent in Spooks as well.

PivotPivotPivottt · 25/03/2021 21:52

I agree I never recognise her as she is always so different in each programme I've seen her in. First saw her on The Bodyguard and when I watched Line of Duty I only realised it was her when I Googled her name. Then when I watched Its A Sin I didn't recognise her until I saw her name on the credits.

skippy67 · 25/03/2021 21:52

She was great in The Missing.

RedLimoncello · 25/03/2021 21:55

Oh I love her! First saw her in Wives & Daughters, then Under the Greenwood Tree, and Tipping the Velvet (costume drama junky).

I recently watched the Durrells and after taking a while to get into it I really enjoyed it. She was brilliant in it, as always really.

Jellykat · 25/03/2021 21:55

I thought she was great in Finding Alice too

Shosha1 · 25/03/2021 21:58

Saw her in For Olivia with Hugh Bonniville as Patricia Neal and Roald Dahl. She was brilliant.

maradesbois · 25/03/2021 22:00

I was thinking exactly this yesterday after starting to rewatch LOD in advance of starting series 6. She’s everywhere but not too much as so versatile, no risk of getting typecast in period dramas even though she’s great in those too.

AnneElliott · 25/03/2021 22:02

She was great in Spooks. I've rewatched them on BBC iPlayer over lockdown.

0blio · 25/03/2021 22:02

She's great! I especially loved her in The Durrells but I thought all the actors were brilliant in that.

moofolk · 25/03/2021 22:05

Tipping the Velvet also. YANBU
