AIBU to say Keeley Hawes is a really really good actress/tor?

Watched in Ashes to Ashes, and the Bodyguard

I'm now rewatching Line of Duty from the start (now on Season 2) and i think she is so different. Not one of those actors that always play the same kind of character, I didnt even realise it was her at first

She's in literally so much though. Absolutely brilliant actress. I liked her in Spooks too.

she is such a brilliant versatile actress. She was incredible in Its a sin and Line of duty. She immerses herself in the character and you don't feel she is acting.

I stopped watching ashes to ashes because of her character. Don't think I've seen in her in anything else but that really put me off her

I’ve been watching Line of Duty from the start too and had exactly the same thoughts. She’s incredible! Lindsey Denton is such a nuanced, confounding character, you can never get comfortable with her. You hate her so much one minute and then you’re desperate for her to succeed.

I really think her performance in LOD series 2 and 3 made that show what it is today (that and the epic series 3 finale).

Her husband MM is a great actor too. Not many Brits watch Succession but he is amazing in it, just as he was in Quiz, Spooks and (and I know this may be a minority viewpoint) as Darcy. When you look back at Spooks series 1 it’s striking how the three very young leads have gone on to such massive success, but it’s not really surprising given how obviously talented they were.

She annoys me for some reason. I can’t put my finger on it but my least favourite line of duty series was the one with her in it. Stephen Graham’s was the best, he’s a fantastic actor.

I saw her in play with Sheila Hancock and Lee Evans. Keeley Hawes left a wee or so after I saw it because she didn't get on with Sheila Hancock. It was a comedy called Barking in Essex. She was excellent playing a really common woman. And the language!!!

I love Sheila H too. How disappointing that they didn’t get on!

I think Keeley is from a WC background though, so that bit isn’t so surprising.

Loved her in LOD she was brilliant. Tbh the series since have been half as good despite rave reviews

I saw her on stage a few years ago, and thought it was a good performance only limited by the script/story. It's also a rarity for an actress or actor to come from a modest background nowadays and so even better to see someone in that position be a success.

She was good in line of duty, but was so annoying in finding Alice, I couldn't watch it all, truly awful. Maybe it the parts but lately she's become whiney, even in its a sin

I thought she was great in The Durrells as were the entire cast. Such a brilliant series.

Watched her in the new film about Roald Dahl recently too and she was excellent in that.
