When your neighbours have three children seven and over?

Adjoining properties.

I often hoover upstairs at this time, not late?

halcyondays · 25/03/2021 21:11

It’s fine.

dementedpixie · 25/03/2021 21:11

Perfectly OK time to hoover

Buckingafout · 25/03/2021 21:12

Fine. Although if you could do it any earlier I am sure your neighbor would appreciate it.

FizzyPink · 25/03/2021 21:12

Perfectly fine and normal. Much more considerate than my 8am Sunday morning hoovering upstairs neighbour

BikeRunSki · 25/03/2021 21:12

Since I only get in from work at 6pm, I think that sounds fine.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 25/03/2021 21:12

"Closing up the shop for the day". Absolutely normal.

sjfjsnfkdhsbd · 25/03/2021 21:12

Would 7.35pm be ok?

Easterbunnygettingready · 25/03/2021 21:13

I vaccum when ds 6 is in bed.... Sleeps through!!

ThatsNotTheTeaHunty · 25/03/2021 21:15

What's the problem? It isn't late.

PinkiOcelot · 25/03/2021 21:16

Absolutely fine. Not late at all. Even 7.35 would be fine.

bloodywhitecat · 25/03/2021 21:17

Why is it a problem?

MirandaMarple · 25/03/2021 21:19

My top floor is a 'flying freehold' so 1/3 of our house is above next door (an old weavers cottage split up)

I am always conscious when I hoover the rooms which are above next door.

Chubbaibu · 25/03/2021 21:19

Yes, too late and too disruptive.

OP posts:
Chasingsquirrels · 25/03/2021 21:19

Completely fine.

Chubbaibu · 25/03/2021 21:20

Dad came and knocked on the door to tell me to stop which has got my goat right up too.

bloodywhitecat · 25/03/2021 21:21

@Chubbaibu

Yes, too late and too disruptive.
Says who?

We have a flying freehold too and I can't say I would even think about it being 'too late' to vacuum upstairs at 7.30pm.

NeedaLittleNap · 25/03/2021 21:22

I think it's normal and reasonable. Not sure which way to go on the voting. YANBU if you are the person hoovering, YABU if you are the person complaining.

luxxlisbon · 25/03/2021 21:23

I don’t even finish my office job until 6pm. 6:30pm is not remotely “too late” for any noise.

Chubbaibu · 25/03/2021 21:23

Sorry I was the offending hooverer!

OP posts:
Invisimamma · 25/03/2021 21:25

6:30pm is a normal time to hoover.

My neighbour used to hoover the skirting boards (shared wall) at 11pm when I had a tiny baby and a toddler, that pissed me right off!

I think anything before 7pm/8pm is fair game really.

BackforGood · 25/03/2021 21:25

Don't know which way the voting works so haven't voted, but it is completely reasonable to vac your house before 7.30

NeedaLittleNap · 25/03/2021 21:26

Yup sorry crossposted. It's a 5 min job. You've have finished quicker if you hadn't been interrupted.

Morana23 · 25/03/2021 21:28

I hoover at that time every night, often later tbh I finish work at 7.30 some nights so often 8pm! He'd hate me 😂

MaizeBlouse · 25/03/2021 21:28

Hoover away. Sometimes I've had to hoover at awkward times, eg one time I broke a glass and I had my 2 DCs under age 3 so I couldn't risk not hoovering!
