Inspired by a thread on here this week where people were saying they were struggling & felt flat I wondered what people have found that’s helped?

I’m trying to pull myself out of the hole and have started listening to music more but I’m at a bit of a loss as to what else to do.

The thread made me feel like I wasn’t alone so was hoping we’d be able to help each other?

Any ideas?

Im drinking less caffeine- tea and coffee - and drinking more water. It has helped a bit! X things will get better soon x

Gardening is really helping me. Also walking. And my real treat is a secret box of gorgeous pralines, the sort you'd buy as a gift for someone else, only I buy them for ME!

Notanotherhun · 19/03/2021 21:22

I play my piano.
Also watch YouTube videos of allsorts.
Last night I was watching Pink Floyd playing live and this morning I watched a concert by a Danish orchestra playing music from westerns.

Download The Secret on audible, go for a walk and really listen to it
Has some good points in there.
It's changed things for me

Coming off Facebook has done wonders for my mood. Came off just before Christmas, for a month. I don't think I'll be going back. It's quite wondrous how much better I feel and I don't really miss it.

I just need to break my mums net & twitter addictions now. I don't post as much on those two, so I'm not looking for the validation I was on Facebook, however, I still find myself mindlessly refreshing.

I need to find a way to have conversations again, as I love a good debate, and to have my own view points challenged, I just wish I could just do it once every couple of days, rather than every hour or so but the pull of the phone is very hard.

@Notanotherhun I'll take your 50 and raise it another 50 😂

Less sugar and more balanced meals especially lunch; I often snack on chocolate through the day with my mood then going up and down so cutting that down really helped.
Also listening to my favourite music loud and having a dance

brokenspoon · 19/03/2021 21:33

Great thread!

I quit booze altogether, started running for the first time in my life and try to get as much sleep as I can. I feel like a new person!

Powerof4 · 19/03/2021 21:36

Joe wicks and now couch to 5k; building flat pack furniture (finally accepted I need my own dedicated wfh space); learning to play the ukelele (very slowly!). Also having a support bubble, just got a 2021 calendar as we might finally be able to put some stuff on it :) .

Wellysock · 19/03/2021 21:37

I gave up alcohol completely a few months back and the effect on my mood has been incredible. I very rarely snap, small things don't annoy me and I just feel happier. I also do yoga every day and take st Johns wort.

Flowers24 · 19/03/2021 21:40

Alcohol and Giant Wotsits
I'm with you, wine and giant wotsits is the answer....
Hangingover · 19/03/2021 21:41

I gave up drinking. Game changer.

blissfulllife · 19/03/2021 21:44

I'm a Walker. Really great for clearing my head. Give myself something to look forward to on a weekend. Could be a film, online concert, takeaway etc

Youarenothere · 19/03/2021 21:44

More sleep

Mary46 · 19/03/2021 21:45

Great thread. Feel bit flat too. Parks nice near me but kind sick it now! Dog gets me out. Have cd going now and wine. Im not into crafting or gardening. Sick netflix now!

MadMadMadamMim · 19/03/2021 21:46

High dose of Vitamin D every day.

I swear it's done wonders for my low winter moods. I was always teetering on the verge of SAD.

I also get outside every day that I can now I'm at home. Even if that's just having a coffee on the patio wrapped in a blanket for 20 mins.

AnImposter · 19/03/2021 21:48

Using lockdown to cut out any toxic or negative people in my life... now I only make an effort with genuine friends and family I care about and the loss of drama has brought peace ✌️

PotDaffodil · 19/03/2021 21:49

Watching my favourite flowers (see username Smile) start to come up. It seems to have been a long winter, I really struggled with it this year.

ExcavatorHater · 19/03/2021 21:50

I'm with @MadMadMadamMim

High dose vitamin D, it really has changed my mood so much. I feel like I can handle things much better now, whereas before I just didn't have the energy.
