AIBU to ask for some help planning this?

I've been on mumsnet almost forever, and it's my go-to place for wisdom, help and advice. I don't really have a long time alive, as my cancer treatment has stopped working, so I'm hoping that some of you can help me plan a trip to Anglesey, so that I've seen somewhere that isn't these four walls during my Liverpool Lockdown!

I don't want to go much further afield, as I would feel better being easily accessible to medical care if necessary. The plan is to hire a car with my husband, who'll drive, and stay a night or two in B&Bs, taking in some coastal views and sunsets.

I'd love to trawl antique shops.
I'd like to take the dog, if possible, though this isn't really essential.
Outdoors is good, but I'll have to use a wheelchair for more than short distances.
I like the idea of "hidden gems" in terms of places to visit (who doesn't?) but comfort is good too.
I'll wait for the weather to warm up a bit, so in a few weeks is fine (I hope!).

I don't want to annoy anybody, but I'd like to use this thread for a bit of support and encouragement, and keep bumping it for more ideas and suggestions.so I can make this trip as special as possible. As Anglesey isn't all that far from where I live, I could split the trip into a few parts.

So, can you help? AIBU?

I’m so sad to read this update. She was lovely to me when I flitted onto the cancer support thread under a different name. I often checked to see how she was doing.

BOF was lovely to everyone. She was kind but firm and so very clued up despite a life that was not always easy.

Serpenta · 11/05/2021 23:37

Oh my goodness, this is so sad. We used to have such a laugh on the X Factor threads a few years ago. In fact I was only reminded of her Jason Manford anecdote a few days ago.

I feel so very sad for all her friends and family

I am so sorry to read this and want to send my condolences to her family and friends. Such sad news about a lovely, warm and witty woman.

HopeMumsnet · 12/05/2021 07:03

Oh no! This isn't an official MNHQ response or anything, just a wee personal one. She was a blast, on and off the boards. We're not supposed to have favourites OF COURSE but at the same time we always knew, even on the most mundane report, that if it was from BOF it would always make us smile in some way or other. She never missed an opportunity for kindness and connection. Sending love to all her family x

Woke up this morning feeling utterly numb. She was the best of us and I truly adored her.

Januaryblue2020 · 12/05/2021 08:45

We love Anglesey; we always get a cottage from Boltholes and hideaways which have some really lovely coastal ones.
Moelfre is a gorgeous little town with a lovely coastal path, I think parts of it are accessible. The sea is beautifully blue up there.
We also love newborough on the other side, an amazing huge wild beach- think it's NT so might be pretty accessible.
For a special meal try the Marram grass!

BelleClapper · 12/05/2021 08:46

I’m posting to placemark so I can find the thread again.

She was my friend and I loved her so much. Seeing the love so many others had for her is so uplifting. She really was something special.
