AIBU to ask for some help planning this?

I've been on mumsnet almost forever, and it's my go-to place for wisdom, help and advice. I don't really have a long time alive, as my cancer treatment has stopped working, so I'm hoping that some of you can help me plan a trip to Anglesey, so that I've seen somewhere that isn't these four walls during my Liverpool Lockdown!

I don't want to go much further afield, as I would feel better being easily accessible to medical care if necessary. The plan is to hire a car with my husband, who'll drive, and stay a night or two in B&Bs, taking in some coastal views and sunsets.

I'd love to trawl antique shops.
I'd like to take the dog, if possible, though this isn't really essential.
Outdoors is good, but I'll have to use a wheelchair for more than short distances.
I like the idea of "hidden gems" in terms of places to visit (who doesn't?) but comfort is good too.
I'll wait for the weather to warm up a bit, so in a few weeks is fine (I hope!).

I don't want to annoy anybody, but I'd like to use this thread for a bit of support and encouragement, and keep bumping it for more ideas and suggestions.so I can make this trip as special as possible. As Anglesey isn't all that far from where I live, I could split the trip into a few parts.

So, can you help? AIBU?

Fuck, im.sorry BoF, i remember you as one of the stalwarts of mnet and youve always been very kind to me. For some reason i recall a picture your dp painted of you and you are very beautiful. Fuck you cancer, fuck you to hell.

Ive not been to Anglesey but i hope you have a lovely time.

iklboo · 11/05/2021 21:54

Thank you @VivaDixie. Such sad news. Love & thoughts to her family.

VivaDixie · 11/05/2021 21:57

@BoreOfWhabylon oh that is so beautiful. I am not religious but am spiritual, I know that there is an extra bright star up there tonight beaming on us all.

LWOTT · 11/05/2021 21:58

Oh my god. I have been texting her and I was fearing the worst.
I am devastated. I absolutely loved her.

LEMtheoriginal · 11/05/2021 21:59

Oh Christ, ive just read the update. Some people are truly beautiful, inside and out. With the angels now xx

fightingirish · 11/05/2021 22:02

My lovely bee never made it down to me in north wales to do her bucket list, we had some laughs on the phone! Whiskey and fags were the staple of our chats, I knew early this morning she has passed, girls.. she was amazing. So funny..didn't give a shite.. I hope she finds my mam up there xx

LWOTT · 11/05/2021 22:02

She was amazing. The wisest person I know.

Kittytheteapot · 11/05/2021 22:04

Oh.

I saw a MN friend post this poem and photo on Facebook and I wondered if it was BOF who had died but didnt like to ask. So I searched for BOF's posts here on Mumsnet and saw there hadn't been any recently.

I am so very sad about this. BOF's kindness and wisdom shone out in every post she wrote. This was true right up to the end. You will be so missed BOF. SadHaloWine

TheSpottedZebra · 11/05/2021 22:06

Oh no, lovely Boffles.

I will always remember you as being as funny as fuck. And kind, and very beautiful, but really really funny.

LWOTT · 11/05/2021 22:08

I’m not on Facebook but I think deep down I knew. Sometimes I took her to the hospital for appointments she even managed to make that fun. She really was the best company.

AtYourCervix · 11/05/2021 22:17

I missed this. I’m so so sorry and so sad for BoF, her friends and family. So so sad.

weebarra · 11/05/2021 22:22

Oh I'm so very very sad to see this. RIP BOF.

VivaDixie · 11/05/2021 22:23

@fightingirish your offer was one of the most wonderful things I have seen on MN in 13 years. She and your mammy will be having a non-Covid restricted hug up there and shining on your little BnB tonight. Please PM me the details as we will certainly bring you custom at some point if we get a weekend away sans kids.

I don't drink whiskey but will raise a virtual glass to BOF tonight x

RJnomore1 · 11/05/2021 22:24

SoupDragon · 11/05/2021 22:28

Oh... Flowers

Peridot1 · 11/05/2021 22:28

I’m so sad to read this. I thought of BOF a few days ago and searched for her recent posts but realised there weren’t many and I feared the worst too.

Sleep peacefully lovely BOF. You will be so missed.

Skap · 11/05/2021 22:33

Oh BOF. I had been wondering how she was doing. What very sad news 😢.
I remember her posts from so many years, and more recently on the cancer thread.

fightingirish · 11/05/2021 22:44

@VivaDixie ah not at all, it was only a bed for a few nights! I was more looking forward to the craic, a little bit of kindness in someone's dark days costs nothing, I just wish I had have been able to pull it off! We had a full itinerary planned! She was going from my house to our holiday home by the sea and then off to our B and B for a few nights, I hope she meets Mam up there! They can both club up now and say they never got a free holiday out of me!

UberMullet · 11/05/2021 22:53

She's been such a friend to me over many years. Virtually and in RL. I don't have words really. She will be greatly missed. I know she would have been mega upset to have missed the end of Line of Duty, or maybe not....

fightingirish · 11/05/2021 22:56

@UberMullet she was greatly effected by line of duty! It was nearly sending her over the edge!

BALD · 11/05/2021 23:19

How unbearably crap.

I adored BoF, though she hardly knew me - such a lovely person inside and out. So very sorry for her family and friends.

AnyFucker · 11/05/2021 23:25

Oh no Sad

DramaAlpaca · 11/05/2021 23:27

What terrible news, I'm so upset reading the update Sad
