To ask which comedians you think are hot?

Right, it's 2 in the morning, I've drank too much coffee in a bid to stay up and finish this essay, and I cannot stop thinking about the Richard Osman sex dream thread from the other day.
Richard is not my type despite the very large hands but it has got me thinking about comedy-adjacent people who I think are Quite Fit, and I need to know I'm not alone.

My picks:

  • Richard Ayoade - awkward and funny and lovely and hot
  • James Acaster - exactly the same reasons (I have a type Blush)
  • Mike Wozniak - I was lucky enough to go to the Taskmaster recordings in October and after seeing him on there I've secretly thought of him as quite attractive. Think it's the moustache, but I'm usually anti-facial hair so I'm not quite sure where that's come from...

Please entertain me during my coffee-fuelled mania by telling me your comedy crushes. I can't be the only one can I?

Chris Ramsay (though I find him pleasant rather than funny)

Ed Gamble

And so pleased someone above said Tom Basden. He’s never quite made it but I love him!

@TartanCurtains

I love a geeky comedian!

John Robins
Greg Davies
David Mitchell (only sometimes)

Aah, yes, John Robins! He and Elis James are brilliant on their podcast and very attractive

I used to like Richard Herring too until I had a Twitter argument with him 😳

CounsellorTroi · 26/02/2021 11:25

Oh yes Elis James is lovely.

TheCrowening · 26/02/2021 11:30

@notacooldad

I used to fancy Richard Herring until I read his autobiography What put you off thecrowning?
He just came over as someone who treated women quite badly, taking advantage of his position. All the talk about hankering after a threesome etc.
notacooldad · 26/02/2021 11:32

That sounds grubby TheCrowning
That would put me off a bloke as well!

yearinyearout · 26/02/2021 11:34

I've got a weird fancy for John Bishop... I really like his hair and his eyes, and he's got a fit bod. But his voice grates on me a bit and his teeth are too big. So I'm not sure if I fancy him or not. Also got a soft spot for Greg Davies.

WheresMyAlex · 26/02/2021 11:36

James Acaster 100%
Noel Fielding
Ricky Gervais

Love a funny man.

LeaveMyDamnJam · 26/02/2021 11:37

@Radishesandcake is that your poker face?

For me there is only one, the unique and irreplaceable Rik Mayall.

therocinante · 26/02/2021 11:41

Greg Davies. He's just huge and grumpy and for some reason that works for me.

I feel like if I met him I'd turn into a giggling idiot

Dramalady52 · 26/02/2021 11:44

I'm putting in a bid for Daniel Sloss! Lovely guy. Reginald D Hunter has the most gorgeous voice.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 26/02/2021 11:47

I was watching an Icelandic comedian on Netflix recently, spent most of it wondering if Iceland was full of men like him and if I should consider emigrating there.

Ari Eldjárn - Pardon my Icelandic (on Netflix)

Misskittyfantastico85 · 26/02/2021 11:56

How are we 8 pages into this and only 2 other people have said Jason Manford?? Omg he is a massive celebrity crush of mine. I seem to be in the right place at the right time to be in the audience when he's in things or on things. I posted a comment to something on Facebook and he replied. I know it was probably his social media manager, but I still have the screenshot 'jason manford replied to your comment' it made my day.

CandidaAlbicans2 · 26/02/2021 12:01

Ed Gamble and Reece Shearsmith are the only 2 I find remotely physically attractive but I’m not even sure I’d go as far as “hot”. Even though I’m heterosexual I think there are more attractive female comics than male, such as Suzi Ruffell, Tiff Stevenson, and Kerry Godliman.

JimmyJabs · 26/02/2021 12:03

@Smileyaxolotl1

Tom Basden was in a comedy troupe called Cowards with Tim Key, Lloyd Woolf, and Stefan Golaszewski. I thought they were all really gorgeous and I've never understood why none of them really made it big (I suppose except Tim Key, but he's still not a household name).
HaHaVeryBunny · 26/02/2021 12:13

Always disliked Noel Fielding after he was abuseive to a female on twitter a few years ago.
She called him out on the use of the word retarded in a tweet, so he told her to "go back to school you dumb fuck" then went on to call her "old and ugly" and "big nose" thus setting up his hatefull fanboys to attack her with death threats. She ended up in hospital AFAIK.

The tweets are all deleted now of course but it did make it into The Sun newspaper at the time.
Awful man.

Snugglepiggy · 26/02/2021 12:13

Rhodes Gilbert. Love the accent. Plus watching his Stand up for Male Infertility and Work Experience he seems a genuinely nice man.

Snugglepiggy · 26/02/2021 12:14

Mean Rhod obviously!

SerendipityJane · 26/02/2021 12:17

@Snugglepiggy

Mean Rhod obviously!
I don't know, "Rhodes" has a ring to it. Although (nod to the Hugh Laurie fan upthread) it's hard to say it without thinking of the late Rhodes Boyson MP who was lampooned in a wonderful sketch in "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" back in the 90s ....

Oh dear, I'd never heard about this but on Googling it seems to be trueSad

Titsywoo · 26/02/2021 12:23

Jim Jeffries - he looks quite a bit like the guy who plays Harvey in Suits (who is gorgeous!)

MrsFionaCharming · 26/02/2021 12:24

I might be getting names mixed up, but I remember James Acaster refusing to say hello to Alex on Taskmaster. I know it was a joke and his thing, and Alex probably found it amusing. But I was offended on his behalf! No one gets to be rude to Alex!

So yeah, Alex Horn apparently.

Also Jon Richardson. He looks a bit like my husband, but he’d actually do the washing up.

unmarkedbythat · 26/02/2021 12:27

I would do Frankie Boyle purely to see what he's like at it.

Bubblemonkey · 26/02/2021 12:29

I’d kick my boyfriend of our bed for Russell Howard 🤭
