Things you bought in lockdown and wish you hadn't bothered

Mine is an Instant Pot. I mean, it's okay, I guess, but I find it a big faff to use and things quite often come out with a weird texture. Would not recommend.

What else do you regret buying?

Activity kits for Ds as he can’t be bothered
Any new clothes bought for myself!

PamelaCake · 19/02/2021 14:40

A rebounder! I could have chosen a cheap one but no... £400 later and I have bounced on it once so far

Blue5238 · 19/02/2021 14:42

I love my instant pot. But only use it for quite specific stuff... Mainly cooking dried pulses without needing to soak first, and making yoghurt.

The robot vacuum just sits under the bed gathering dust, and not in the way intended

Chunkymenrock · 19/02/2021 14:44

Shitty tie on fabric masks early on, which are a really bad fit and the ties are awful to manage.

bridgetreilly · 19/02/2021 14:45

Oh, that's a good point. I had meant to use it for making yoghurt and haven't got round to that yet. I should try that, thanks.

Don't you just turn the robot vacuum on? Why isn't it working?

My robot vacuum is a lifesaver. Especially now I'm pregnant and exhausted!

Nice clothes that I thought I would wear when lockdown ended and now it might finally end I'm pregnant Hmm

Mol1628 · 19/02/2021 14:47

Activity books and jigsaws for the kids. They prefer just paper and pens and doing their own thing.

choppolata · 19/02/2021 14:56

My Instant Pot is the best thing I bought! I love it. Worst thing, probably the £1000+ on car repairs given that I'm going nowhere.

Purplecatshopaholic · 19/02/2021 15:04

A gorgeous but excess-to-requirements faux fur jacket. I don't need another jacket - and I really don't need a pale pink faux fur jacket to walk the dog which is the only time I go out now anyway. It came from the States. Its going back there...

Beetlewing · 19/02/2021 15:13

The cupboard clogging air fryer and loads of clothes that don't fit because I am carrying ALL the lockdown luggage

10 litres of isopropyl and various additions and mixing kit to make hand sanitiser. Fortunately I can use it all for other reasons but still a waste

Ocado anytime pass that proved to be anything but anytime

2021manu · 19/02/2021 15:17

Lots of outdoor furniture as dp wanted an outside office. Did we forget the sun wouldn't last?

bonfireheart · 19/02/2021 15:18

4 pairs of school trousers

Avebury · 19/02/2021 15:57

Another one for Instant Pot. Haven't even used it yet because the instructions seem too overwhelming when I am frazzled anyway

user1471462428 · 19/02/2021 16:05

A sledge. It snowed for two days and now my children hit each other with it.

onemouseplace · 19/02/2021 16:08

@bonfireheart

4 pairs of school trousers
Snap. Bought last week of bloody December when the colour DS needed finally came back in stock.

Erm, it’s coming back later in the year.
MasterBeth · 19/02/2021 16:10

What is an Instant Pot?

Orangedaisy · 19/02/2021 16:10

I bought new clothes for myself too. Not bothered wearing them.

NoKingDingaLingTitsInAbsentia · 19/02/2021 16:15

ebike
It's massive and I'm too scared to leave it anywhere unattended even with a massive lock on it as it was so bloody expensive.
I really need to get round to selling it on...to borrow a phrase from the mumsnetter who sold her dining chairs, but not the table, "it's just sitting there looking like a c*nt"....

Potterythrowdown · 19/02/2021 16:31

In lockdown 1 I ordered a box of nice wine and some fancy gin to keep us going, found out I was pregnant just after they were delivered 😭😭😭

SimonJT · 19/02/2021 16:36

Uniform last February, uniform he grew out of and needed replacing mid December.

ImRealHonest · 19/02/2021 16:38

Spin bike. It was a bargain. Or would have been, had I ever used it

Ellpellwood · 19/02/2021 16:42

Paint for DS who is 2 (3 bottles, pots, sponges, and brushes, so not convenient pen type things). Ages setting up with coverings and apron, ages to clean up, and he does the actual painting for about 10 minutes.

A Longchamp backpack. It's gone nowhere but the supermarket and I can carry my purse and keys in my pocket anyway.
