To be utterly besotted with Kirstie and Phil

I have been up all night (insomnia ☹) and watching really old reruns of Location, Location, Location and I can't believe how much I love Phil and Kirstie.

I think I have a massive embarrassing crush on Phil and his personable manner but I also love the idea that he seems like a happily married man with such a lovely relationship with his long term work wife. He just seems so wholesome and like he would make a good family friend.

I love Kirstie. I'm in my 20s but love her style, her confidence, everything, even when I think she is being a little pushy or overbearing. I feel like we would get on!

They just feel like good old friends and I love watching them and all their spin offs.

YABU - Nobody watches that crap and they are out of touch and rather annoying
YANBU -They make for great viewing!

I love them too. Fantastic presenting duo

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 19/02/2021 05:14

Love them...although I am put off when Kirstie does shows aimed at filling my house with more and more schmutter in the name of crafts, stick to knocking down walls to make a great kitchen / diner Grin

Botanicals · 19/02/2021 05:19

No, he supports hunting and the countryside alliance. I was going to post a photo of him with a trophy deer but it might upset some people.

IamtheAuthority · 19/02/2021 05:20

Yes I do prefer her when she is knocking down walls. The crafts show was a tad (a lot) awful and I couldn't watch as I like her too much to be disappointed.

I love them to bits. Just seem like good wholesome people

I agree and think they are fab. It didn’t take long for the MN thought police to come on and condemn you are liking someone who might dare to take a different view on legitimate countryside management. There will be more bitter people carping about the fact Kirstie is the daughter of a Lord and a Tory along in a minute. Hmm

PandoraP · 19/02/2021 07:49

I like they too. Fantastic chemistry and presenter duo. Very calming to watch at the moment too.

Scarlettpixie · 19/02/2021 07:52

I like to watch Location and love it or list it but have gone off Phil after i found out he enjoys big game/trophy hunting 😟

That put me off him too, Botanicals

And their jokey, scripted voiceovers have become tiresome.

JeanSpinneysSmallPleasures · 19/02/2021 07:54

@wigornian - nothing to do with countryside management; Phil kills deer for kicks.

Wiredforsound · 19/02/2021 08:00

The show feels very tired now. They’ve been doing this for years and get the feeling they’re just phoning it in now. Agree that Kirstie’s ‘find a mirror in a skip and make a hammock out of it’ show was dreadful, especially when we all knew she lived in a stately home and wouldn’t be seen dead with any of that tat in her house.

Hilda40 · 19/02/2021 08:10

Phil called a manege a menage. I've never forgiven him.

MajesticWhine · 19/02/2021 08:13

YANBU. I love them. Bring me lighthearted TV every time.

RaspberryCoulis · 19/02/2021 08:15

I love Kirstie and Phil. A lot of what she talks about I very much agree with - that show she did about upcycling second hand and using Gumtree/Freecycle was a great antidote to consumerism and buying all new. I like the crafty stuff too. She does a lot of stuff for Keep Britain Tidy and is constantly banging on about waste and litter so I do think it's something she believes in.

Phil and Kirstie have a lovely relationship and you can tell they really do get on.

She's over privileged. Grew up on a rambling country estate, went to Bedales. Tory though and through.

CoronaIsWatching · 19/02/2021 08:19
@JeanSpinneysSmallPleasures Deer culls are part of countryside management you idiot; doesn't make any difference to the deer if it's organised as a sport as long as the right ones are culled.
Fair enough. But posing with the corpse like a trophy makes me question the motive. It makes me very uncomfortable.

wigornian · 19/02/2021 08:19

@Wiredforsound she doesn't live in a stately home anymore, she has a London House and a Devon Holiday home - her ancestral "stately Home" is now the West Mercia Police HQ - Hindlip Hall!

I can only find articles where he's hunted problem deer as part of organised management programmes in Kent. Do you have a link ?

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 19/02/2021 08:28

I saw them filming a Somerset House years ago and was v excited. I enjoy Love It or List It. I like the idea that they do a project to see if their own home could be made to work better. If they do decide to see at the end at least the house has it’s potential maximised.

Belledan1 · 19/02/2021 08:35

I like them in location location location but in real like I feel Kirsty does not live in the real world and has no idea of every day life but I suppose a lot of rich famous people are the same like Jamie Oliver etc.

RedRec · 19/02/2021 08:36

Only just found out that he kills deer and enjoys doing it. There goes the avuncular image, and I will never see him in the same way again.

Belledan1 · 19/02/2021 08:37

I mean Life not like sorry ie as in the real world giving advice.

PurpleFlower1983 · 19/02/2021 08:38

I really like them but she can be a dick on Twitter so I’ve gone off her a bit.

AnnLouiseB · 19/02/2021 08:49

I’ve always loved them too. Friends of mine appeared on an early season of LLL and said they were absolutely lovely and great fun in real life too - took them out for a boozy dinner etc, were clearly good pals.

Passiveobserver · 19/02/2021 09:00

They are my favourite presenting duo.
They come across as very natural, nothing seems forced.
